For whatever reason, famous women are obsessed with Pete Davidson. Okay... so it's not just famous women... it's everyone on the internet. Whether people completely understand Pete's insane romantic history or not, there appears to be a healthy desire to consume every tidbit of information. Of course, right now, all eyes have gone to Pete's relationship with Kim Kardashian, but fans should really pay a little more attention to a detail from a previous romance. Actually, from two of his previous romances...

There's a lot we don't understand about Pete Davidson's split with Cazzie David, but one thing that has really surprised fans is the necklace he gave her. The same necklace that appeared around Ariana Grande's neck just a few months after his break-up with Cazzie... Yeah... it seems Pete was re-gifting the same necklace to his different girlfriends. And this wasn't just any old necklace. It was one with a very deep and personal meaning. Here's the truth of the matter and what Pete had to say about it...

Pete Davidson Allegedly Gave Ariana Grande The Same Necklace He Once Gave To Cazzie David

There's no doubt that Pete Davidson has become the king of kooky jewelry in Hollywood. Every time he's seen out in public he's got something only Jack Sparrow would wear around his neck. It's always different and it's always a bit out of left-field... to put it mildly. Sometimes his bling is straight-up weird, and sometimes it's something a little more kitschy such as a necklace with his girlfriend's initials; an example being the "PD" necklace he wore during his extremely brief romance with Bridgerton star Pheobe Dynevor. But one piece of jewelry he has isn't all that weird. In fact, it's touching...

This would be Pete's gold pendant in the shape of a Fire Department of New York badge. For those who don't know, Pete's late father was a firefighter who lost his life during the 9/11 attacks. The gold pendant is an homage to his father, Scott Davidson, and bears his fire department number, 8418.

The choker received a significant amount of attention when it was seen around Ariana Grande's neck, alongside a rainbow choker. Reactions from fans were not positive. In fact, they claimed that Ariana wearing it was "disrespectful". Of course, Pete had a response to all the negativity. According to E! Online, he responded on Instagram by saying, "For ur information that's not just some girl, that's my fiancé. She's the greatest person I know. I gave it to her because she has my heart and that is the most precious thing I own. My dad would be so happy and love her so much."

Of course, Ariana also chimed in, responding to the post by writing, "I love u more than anything."

While Pete may have shooed off some of his haters with his response, other fans were quick to notice that Pete's ex-girlfriend, Larry David's daughter Cazzie, also wore the necklace at one stage.

In fact, fans rummaged through Cazzie's Instagram and found a photo of her on vacation with a friend wearing what appears to be the exact same necklace. So, fans started to get up in arms about Pete re-gifting the extremely personal necklace to at least two of his girlfriends.

Pete Davidson Made Several Replicas Of His Father's Badge

After fans on Twitter started hurling insults at him for giving Ariana the same necklace he once gave to Cazzie (presumably taking it back and regifting it), Pete cleared things up on Instagram by writing, "i had a bunch of replicas made. My sister and grandpa also have one. the one that ari has is the one my dad actually died in and the one [he] wore his entire career and the one i’ve worn for 17 years. i’ve actually never taken it off other than for snl or work. so it means a lot of me. hope this helps. please learn to be nicer and not to assume the worst in people. it’s a terrible way to live. much love."

While fans may have jumped to conclusions about Pete regifting the meaningful necklace, they did notice that Pete clearly held Ariana in higher esteem than Cazzie. The "Thank U, Next" singer received the authentic one while the "No One Asked For This" author only got a copy. Either way, it's obviously Pete's decision to give whoever he wants the treasured necklace. Let's just hope we don't see Kim Kardashian walking around with it any time soon.
