Pete Davidson is prioritizing his mental health. The actor and comedian is rumored to be seeking "trauma therapy" after months of online harassment from rapper Kanye West. Davidson reportedly split from West's estranged wife Kim Kardashian.
Kanye West Made A Fake Post Claiming Pete Davidson Was No Longer Alive
A source told People on Monday: "He has been in trauma therapy in large part [due to Kanye]. The attention and negativity coming from Kanye and his antics is a trigger for [Pete], and he's had to seek out help." On Monday, West posted a celebratory fake newspaper page claiming Pete Davidson was dead after his reported split from the mother of his four children, Kim Kardashian. In a since deleted image of a fake New York Times newspaper, West photo shopped the headline "Skete Davidson dead at age 28."
The "Gold Digger" rapper also included a shady line that read, "Kid Cudi meant to play funeral but fearful of bottle throwers." This referred to an incident in which audience members at the Rolling Loud Miami festival in July threw water bottles at Kid Cudi, 38. Cudi's friendship with West soured over his friendship with Davidson.
In spite of their apparent break-up, Davidson is said to have "no regrets" about his nine-month relationship with Kardashian. The People source added: "[Pete] has no regrets for dating Kim and wants it to be made very clear that she's been nothing but supportive of him throughout their relationship...Moving forward he just wants to focus on his career."
Kanye West Made A Music Video Attacking Pete Davidson
In March, Kanye West released a claymation video for his track "Eazy", featuring The Game. The music video depicted himself committing violent acts against a character resembling love rival Pete Davidson.
West also took to social media in March and claimed he was "really concerned" that Davidson would get Kim "hooked on drugs," adding, "He's in rehab every two months."
Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson reportedly split last week after struggling to make their schedules work. The funnyman is currently filming in Australia. The couple had been dating for nine months after their romance began in October 2021 off the back of Kim hosting Saturday Night Live.
