Phoebe French is becoming a well-known name on Netflix. From being a fan-favorite on Cobra Kai to starring in the upcoming star-studded film Do Revenge, we can't wait to see what she's going to star in next. We are definitely excited to see her shine in the upcoming Season 5, hitting the streaming service later this week!
TheThings sat down with the talented actress to talk about the upcoming season, recently working with Cole Sprouse, and her dream acting role.
Phoebe Is Excited For Fans To See Cobrai Kai Season 5
With Cobra Kai's fifth season coming in just a few days (September 9th to be exact) fans of the series can't wait for its release and to finally get some answers from the fourth season. With a Rotten Tomatoes average score maintained at an A rating for four entire seasons so far, there are some high hopes for this next installment. And luckily, we hear from Phoebe that the new season is just as good as we've been hoping.
"I think season five of Cobra Kai is going to blow the audience away," she says. "The creators, Jon, Josh, and Hayden, do such a terrific job of bringing up new plot lines, and raising the stakes. Season five has some of the best fight choreography in the show yet. I also got to train a lot more. I may or may not be doing a lot more karate in this season, which I can’t wait to see!"
But just to be clear, Phoebe may be a little biased toward the franchise since she apparently is a huge fan of the Cobra Kai/ Karate Kid realm.
"Yes! I’ve always loved the Karate Kid. It’s such a classic family movie, and I think Cobra Kai
does a great job of keeping that original '80s nostalgia alive. Working on Cobra Kai has been
one of my favorite projects I have ever done."
She Also Shared A Bit About Working Alongside Cole Sprouse In Moonshot
Aside from her rising Netflix fame, did you know that Phoebe starred in a movie beside a very popular former Disney star? That's right; the young actress recently appeared alongside Cole Sprouse in the recent space movie Moonshot, along with stars Lana Condor and Zach Braff.
"Moonshot was a blast," the actress adds.
The Everything & More actress also shared one of her favorite scenes to film with the actor:
I’ve been a fan of Cole Sprouse since I watched him on Disney as a kid, so seeing him work in real life was unreal. I remember filming the engagement party scene, and seeing him dance around take after take kept everyone laughing. Getting to wear the spacesuit was pretty cool too!
We hope Phoebe got Cole Sprouse dancing on video!
Phoebe Wants To Star In A Horror Film Next
From coming-of-age to comedy, Phoebe French has truly done every genre. But there is one genre in particular that she would love to work in again.
"I think I would have to go with horror, especially since fall is coming up," she reveals.
Horror is my favorite genre of movie, and I haven’t done a horror film in a long time. I think Netflix has some great horror content, and I would love to maybe be a part of that some day- even if I get killed off first!
Judging by her recent training, I think Phoebe's about to knock us out in her upcoming performance! Catch Phoebe in the upcoming season of Cobra Kai, airing this September 9th on Netflix!
