Olivia Rodrigo's impact on pop culture has reached beyond 20-somethings and TikTok trends. Today, she appeared at the White House to emphasize the importance of young people getting vaccinated.

Along with her articulate speech came tweets from politicians who wanted in on the trending topic. Their captions for the event were synonymous with the infamous "why are there holes in your jeans" line.

Quoting Olivia's Song Titles

We cant make this up, political figures who typically post about serious topics like COVID without catchy phrases are joining in to quote Rodrigo's Sour album. First off we've got the Chief White House Correspondent for NBC News, Peter Alexander.

He tweeted today, "Vaccines are “Good 4 U”:@Olivia_Rodrigo arrives at the White House to promote vaccinations." It's a dad joke in the purest form of the word. While it may be forced relatability, it's towards the right cause.

The breakout singer and songwriter wrote out her own statement following the Washington, D.C. press conference.

Her sentiments included, "YOU have the power to save lives. check out vaccines.gov to learn more about vaccinations and to find a vaccination center near you (it’s free and super easy.) thank you to everyone who has done their part in helping end this pandemic."

Senator of Colorado Michael Bennet joined in on punning it up from the other side of the country. He tweeted, "Olivia Rodrigo is right. Without young people getting vaccinated, it’s 1 step forward, 3 steps back."

They Understood The Assignment

Just last year, Rodrigo was acting on the adapted High School Musical show, which she still does, but has now reached a level of fame that's incomprehensible.

She's already using her platform for good, and we hope that her growth under the spotlight will mean more causes that she's passionate about. Her actions can follow ones that align with other empowered stars like Emma Watson.

A White House digital staff assistant, Hoor Qureshi, also had the opportunity to soak in the moment of meeting Rodrigo. Her reference to the "brutal" artist's lyrics wasn't as brash as some older members of Twitter.

She tweeted, "@Olivia_Rodrigo and I want you to get vaccinated so we can all be ~happy and healthy~" attached ot a selfie photo of her and Rodrigo. Get vaccinated and shamelessly make puns, it's a win-win in our book. A triple win if you got to meet her today!
