Emma Roberts is pregnant! Roberts rocked a baby bump on the set of American Horror Story last week, leading some to wonder if baby number two was on the way. But, alas, the bump was only a prosthetic being worn for this season of the hit FX show.
On Friday, Roberts was seen filming Season 12 of American Horror Story in New York City. Wearing a long-sleeved camel colored dress with a built-in knot ruching around the midsection and thigh-high slit, the We're The Millers star was a sight to behold. And while the brown ankle stiletto boot and long wavy blonde hair made for great accessories, it was the baby bump that sent many into a tizzy.
The size of the bump made onlookers question if Roberts was early on in her pregnancy and trying to hide it. However, the faux bump is nothing more than a prop for American Horror Story: Delicate. But it remains to be seen if fans will tune in to see how the bump is integral to the storyline.
Why Fans May Boycott Emma Roberts This Season Of 'American Horror Story'
Over the past few seasons, American Horror Story has failed to impress audiences the way it did in the early days of the show. Because of this, viewership has been waiting. Thinking that bringing back a popular actor who had been with the series for five seasons was the way to boost ratings was a good thought on the part of producers, even if it meant Roberts was returning to the show only for the money. However, after The Hollywood Reporter reported that Kim Kardashian would star in the season as well, fans are claiming that they were going to boycott the season. This means that regardless of what Roberts brings to the table for AHS, fans may ultimately miss due to their disdain of Kardashian.
"It's gonna be a horror story alright," one Reddit fan stated.
Another user said, "Yeah, I'm skipping this season."

As such, just how the pregnancy plays out in the show may not be known to the early viewers of American Horror Story. This is because interest may have waned to the point where even a fan-favorite like Roberts cannot save the show.
Emma Roberts Storyline May Be Delayed Due To Writers' Strike
For those who do decide to tune in to Season 12 of American Horror Story, they may be waiting much longer than the anticipated air date. And this all has to do with the ongoing writers' strike that has yet to come to an end.
To date, the writers' strike negotiations have not borne any fruitful talks that would lead to the end of the strike. Because of this, shows, including American Horror Story have been impacted. From the Teamsters getting involved and turning production trucks around in May to scripts not being complete to be able to put the season in the can, the August 1 release date of AHS is looking more and more like a pipe dream daily.
While this strike is beneficial for the writers in the entertainment industry, it may just prove to be the final nail in the coffin for American Horror Story. As such, attempts at gaining fanbase interest seeing Roberts' character out in NYC pregnant, may have been all for not.
