Rappers are known to collaborate, and Minaj has worked with some of the most iconic musicians of our time, like Drake, Lil' Wayne, Beyonce, and Rihanna. Given her status as a rapper, the hip hop music maven has become quite selective with whom she works and associates. Here are the rappers she's turned down, and not just for a feature.

6 Kanye West

Kanye West is one of the highest-selling, most decorated, and most provacative rappers of all time. Some would say, including him, he's the greatest rapper of all time. West and Minaj have collaborated in the past, and many credit West for giving Minaj her career's start after featuring her in "Monster," a song off his album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, an album Rolling Stone considers the 17th best album of all time, her verse being one many consider the best verse on the album. Given their relationpship and West's prowess, it's hard to believe Minaj turned him down for a feature, one on her song "Right Thru Me," to be exact. She tweeted about the story, saying she "had to beg him to change his mind," and he ultimately was not featured on the track.

5 T-Pain

T-Pain is a rapper and singer best known for his use of autotune on his tracks. While some of criticized his use of the sonic feature, T-Pain has proven he is a talented singer and rapper with or without the use of autotune. T-Pain is also known for collaborating with nearly every major artist in the 2000's, Mariah Carey, Chris Brown, and Akon to name a few. The rapper recently revealed to The Shade Room that he asked Minaj to work with him, and she turned down his request. Minaj responded on Twitter saying she doesn't recollect the interaction, but it's "all love" between the two rappers now.

4 City Girls

The City Girls are a Miami-based hip hop duo consisting of rappers Yung Miami and JT. The duo is relatively new to the music industry, but they've already proven their talent by working with huge rappers like Drake and Cardi B. City Girls took to GQ to reveal they'd love to work with Minaj, but the chart-topping rapper hasn't given the duo such a warm welcome, with Yung Miami sharing on Twitter she's been blocked by Minaj on Instagram. Yung Miami went on to express her confusion over Minaj's slight, suggesting she hasn't done anything to deserve the block. Minaj hasn't given her exact position on a collaboration with City Girls, but it seems fans won't be getting a joint record from the female rappers any time soon.

3 Shaquille O'Neal

Better known for his basketball career as a Los Angeles Laker than as a rapper, Shaquille O'Neal has released four studio albums as a rapper. On an episode of Inside the NBA, O'Neal and Minaj showed off their rapping skills, with the basketball player using part of his set to jokingly propose to the Queen of Rap. Minaj was quick to turn him down, responding to the facetious proposal with a hard "no."

2 Gucci Mane

Gucci Mane is an Alabama-born rapper best known for songs like "Wake Up in the Sky" and "I Get the Bag" featuring hip hop trio Migos. Minaj and Gucci Mane have collaborated multiple times, but a feud prior to the creation of some of their songs almost stopped any music from being made at all between the two rappers. Gucci Mane took to Twitter years ago to rant about several rappers, Minaj being one of them. After saying the two slept together, Minaj quickly denied Gucci Mane's claim, and suggested his dig at the rapper was due to her and fellow musician Tyga turning him down for a feature. The two ended up resolving their issues, and, as previously stated, did make music together.

1 Tyler, The Creator

Tyler, The Creator is a Grammy-winning rapper who's no stranger to collaborations, having worked with some of the biggest names in music, like Pharell Williams, Lil' Wayne, and Kanye West, among many others. The popular rapper has shared a story about being turned down by Minaj for a feature on his single "I Ain't Got Time," saying he wanted to her to contribute a verse, but she was unable to come up with anything that matched the tune. Perhaps the two will be able to collaborate on a track in the future.
