Why Did Doja Cat Shave Her Head?
In August 2022, Doja did an Instagram Live where she revealed the real reason she shaved her head. "I just can’t believe it took me this long to be like, 'Shave your fu--ing head,'" she said. "Because first of all, I don’t wear my hair out. You guys have seen me wear my natural hair out—I had like two eras where my hair would be out, like I would straighten it. There was a moment where it was natural and I don't even wear it natural because I don’t feel like it." She also stressed that "it's just a fu--ing nightmare, dude. I'm over it. I'm really liking this."
The Woman performer added that her new look makes her happy despite the criticism. "What is the use of having hair if you're not going to fu--ing wear it out? I don't even sport it, so I'm shaving it off," she continued. "There's no point. I've never felt so fu--ing happy, like…it's very funny how much of an effect taking my hair off my head has positively influenced me." She went on to confess that she's "never liked having hair."
"I feel like I was never supposed to have hair anyway," she admitted. "I don't like having hair. I never liked having hair. I cannot tell you one time since the beginning of my life that I've ever been like, 'This is cool.' I just do not like to have hair." After showing off her shaved head, Doja took a razor to shave her eyebrows while her Instagram followers watched. "My makeup artist just texted me, 'Are you shaving your brows off? I'm driving the fuck over,'" she shared at the time. "I'm gonna do it."

Fans were quick to assume that Doja's new look might be another Britney Spears 2008 meltdown situation. "Like bruv doja cat clearly has serious mental health issues but you lot see that as her being free, it's a cry for help," a fan tweeted of the Juicy hitmaker's recent antics. Another one said: "like do y'all not know a cry for help when y'all see one." However, many fans also came to the singer's defense and slammed haters for evaluating Doja's mental state.

Lady Gaga has also expressed her approval of the Grammy winner's new look. "Beautiful," she wrote under Doja's TikTok video. Despite the intensity of Doja's clap-back, she still makes fun of her own bold hair choice. "I'm glad my head is a good shape. I was scared it was going to give peanut head ...
