Kyle Richards Won't Ever Share These Aspects Of Her Life On RHOBH

Kyle Richards is the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' last-standing OG. She's shared so much of her life since the show premiered in 2010 — from her complicated relationship with her sisters to her recent shocking separation from Mauricio Umansky.

But there are still things the reality TV star refuses to share on camera. Recently, Kyle — who's been feuding with Dorit Kemsley — talked about her filming boundaries and breaking out of her comfort zone after

Season 1 of RHOBH.

Kyle Richards Would Like To Keep Some Intimate Things Off-Camera On RHOBH

When asked what she wouldn't show on camera, Kyle told Us Weekly: "There are a few things I don't allow, believe it or not! Showering, sitting on the toilet and sex [Laughs] … these are things I'd like to keep off camera." She then revealed that she regrets having her drunk moments aired on RHOBH.

I may have had some drunk moments, but I feel like we probably won’t be seeing those again for a while.

Kyle added that she's been sober for more than two years now. "I haven't been drinking for two years and three months now," she said. "You'll see a split here and there — without the margarita!" Other housewives initially questioned Kyle's healthy choices, which included working out more. They thought it was a coping mechanism for her then-unconfirmed split with Mauricio.

Fans were also bothered by her sudden weight loss, accusing her of taking Ozempic. In 2022, she set the record straight about her transformation, saying that it was due to her major diet change. "After gaining weight during the summer — on July 15 — after getting off the boat I said 'That is it. I'm not having any sugar, any carbs, any alcohol,'" she explained.

Coming into the show, Kyle was more reserved about what she wanted to film. "I was raised not to talk about or share certain things, so I came into the show with that mentality," she said of that time. She eventually got over it, being a "different person" than she was 14 years ago. "It took me a long time to get to this place," said the mom-of-four.

Kyle said it's been "therapeutic" to share "more than [she] would've felt comfortable [with] a year or two years ago." She added that she learned to open up more after losing her friend, Lorene, to suicide in 2022. "When I lost my best friend Lorene to suicide [in 2022], I was also going through a hard time with my husband, and my sister Kathy and I weren't speaking."

I had to let go of so many things and just rip the Band-Aid off. I felt very exposed and raw, but then I thought, 'Well, this isn't so bad. Talking about these things is actually making me feel better.

Kyle confirmed that despite being a mess over her breakup, Mau will still appear in season 14. "Mau shot with me quite a bit. He'll come over for dinner and it's like nothing has changed, yet everything has changed," she said of The Agency founder. "The best way I can put it is that we're family. It's easy for us to get along because we never fought. That was not an issue in our marriage; there's so much love there."

Despite learning to be vulnerable on RHOBH, Kyle still struggled to film her marriage issues in Season 13. She nearly quit the show because of it. "These last two years have been the most difficult of my life and I didn't want to put myself through the scrutiny," she confessed.

Kyle added that she "didn't feel supported by a lot of the cast," which made her want to "disappear for a while." She decided to stay on the show after realizing that the crew had become family to her. At that time, she was losing one as Mauricio was just about to move out.

We have a lot of fun times, too, and the producers are family to me at this point, so I knew that would be another loss for me. My husband was just about to move out.

Kyle said it felt "different" and emotional" to see Mauricio leave after 27 years of marriage. She knew the day was coming, "but when it happens, it’s like, 'Oh, my God, this is real.'" When asked if she was lonely, the Halloween star thanked her two daughters, Portia and Sophia who still live with her despite being "out a lot."

She also thinks she might be a "crazy dog lady" with her six dogs keeping her company. "It's like having six husbands. It's a lot of work!" Kyle said of her furry friends. "But they make me laugh and make me feel safe. They sleep in my room. One sprawls across [me], and I end up sleeping in a split because I want to accommodate her."

But with her not considering herself single, still not getting divorced from Mau — "figuring things out," who knows what could happen next?
