The Real Housewives of Orange County is a staple on Bravo because it was the first of its kind in the Real Housewives franchise. Bravo released the reality TV show in 2006, which revolved around the luxurious lives of those living in the prestigious area of Orange County, California.
RHOC is currently on season 14 with an entirely different cast than season one. Season one showed the lives of five housewives and their families: Kimberly Bryant, Vicki Gunvalson, Jo de la Rosa, Jeana Keough, and Lauri Peterson. To take a walk down Orange County lane, keep scrolling to be reminded of what went down in season one and what the ladies are up to these days.
7 Kimberly Bryant
Housewife Kimberly Bryant only lasted one season on RHOC. During that short time, we met her husband Scott and her two children, Bianca and Travis.
Fellow housewife Jeana helped Kimberly and Scott find a new home in Orange County but their residence didn't last long. After one season, Kimberly and Scott moved their family to Chicago after some serious cancer scares. These days, the Bryants are still living in Chicago with their eldest working as an underwriter.
6 Jo De La Rosa
Jo De La Rosa was the youngest housewife on the roster. In fact, she wasn't even a wife. She was dating her boyfriend Slade Smiley at the time and viewers saw their arguments of gender roles. Slade wanted Jo to slow down and settle down with him but she wasn't ready for that kind of commitment. The two ended up calling it quits.
These days, Jo runs a pop culture podcast called Popcandy and is a beauty influencer on Instagram. As for her ex-boyfriend Slade... Well, scroll below.
5 Slade Smiley
Slade has a tough reputation in the RHOC world. After seriously dating Jo and wanting to settle down with her, he moved on to have a quick relationship with fellow housewife, Lauri Waring! If that wasn't bad enough, he then found himself in the arms of Gretchen Rossi who came on to the RHOC in season four. As it turns out, Gretchen was the one housewife who stuck with Slade. The two are now married and happy parents to a baby girl.
4 Vicki Gunvalson
Vicki Gunvalson is often referred to as the OG of the OC. She was on the show for 13 seasons before leaving the series for good. Back in season one, Vicki was still married to Donn and running Cotto Insurance. After all these years, we saw Vicki go through men, rumors, and hardships with friends, but she's always been a dedicated worker.
Now that Vicki is no longer a housewife, she's focusing on her grandchildren and her relationship with her fiancé, Steve Lodge. The two were planning on getting married this summer but put plans on hold because of COVID-19.
3 Jeana Keough
What many people don't know about the Real Housewives franchise is that it started out being about Jeana Keough's family. After the success of season one, Jeana came forward and noted that a producer was a neighbor of hers and the two started planning a show about their dynamic. Funny enough, things changed and the network added the families of Jeana's social circle.
In season one, we met Jeana's kids and her unique relationship with her stained husband Matt. Unlike in recent episodes of RHOC, the women's kids were a big part of season one; especially Jeana's.
2 And Jenna's Kids
Jeana introduced us to her three children: Shane, Kara, and Colton. The wildly colorful kids were all young adults venturing through life after high school and college. Due to their age, they were very involved with Jeana's fabulous circle of friends and came to most gatherings. There were evening rumblings of rumors about Jean's eldest son Shane and a few of the housewives.
These days, the Keough kids are all grown up. Shane is running his own company, Kara is married with a daughter, and Colton appears to be loving life and doing his own thing with his dog Kita, according to his Instagram!
1 Lauri Peterson
In season one, Lauri was trying to juggle being a single mom and getting back into the workforce while trying to find Mr. Right. What stood out the most about Lauri's storyline was her son Josh's struggle with addiction.
After filming stopped for Lauri (and finally finding her prince charming), she and her husband George went on to adopt Josh's daughter Kennady after Josh went to jail for attempted murder. The couple is now raising Kennady as their own even though Josh was eventually released this past March.
