The Real Housewives of New Jersey has always been one of the housewives franchises to focus on family. The biggest drama and feuds on the show were a part of siblings Teresa Giudice, Joe Gorga, and Melissa Gorga. It had been happening for years before The Gorgas' joined the cast back in season three.

Yet as the seasons went on we saw Teresa and Melissa grow closer and get past all of their drama. But in the newest season twelve reunion of RHONJ things came to a head and fans wondered if the two are even speaking currently.

Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorgas' Drama

Teresa Giudice has been an OG housewife of the New Jersey franchise and her sister-in-law Melissa Gorga joined the cast in season three. Many of their problems stemmed from Teresa always calling Melissa a gold digger after marrying Teresa's brother, Joe Gorga. Teresa also accused Melissa of being a stripper in the past. Melissa has denied this countless times. This clearly puts a distance between the two families and made the drama extremely intense in season three of RHONJ.

Although their drama seemed out of control and inconsolable, the two eventually made up for the sake of their families and Teresa and Joe's parents. It seemed like the best thing to do to keep their families close which is huge to both Teresa and Joe.

Before season twelve started it seemed the two were in a good place, they even appeared on a spin-off housewife franchise The Ultimate Girl's Trip with housewives from other cities. That clearly was not the case during the season and even more clear now that the reunion has aired.

Season Twelve Of RHONJ Broke Their Friendship Apart

So what exactly happened that tore them apart? Well, a lot of things. To begin with, during the season Teresa and castmate Margaret Josephs had a huge fight that even resulted in Teresa becoming physical with Josephs. The problem is that Melissa and Margaret are actually great friends and Teresa was always nudging Melissa to get into the middle and defend her.

On the other hand, Teresa and castmate Jennifer Aydin are close friends. Aydin and Melissa do not get along, Aydin has countless times come for the Gorga family, even calling them "crooksm" which the Gorgas believe Teresa did not condemn Aydin for.

The reunion of season twelve certainly had a lot to do with airing out Teresa and Melissa's problems with each other, even Joe Gorga got involved. Joe and Teresa had an argument during the reunion about family problems. Teresa and Melissa went at each other as well.

At one point Teresa had said to Melissa, "this is the thing honey, we’re not close. Like, you’re my sister-in-law, but we’re not close." This was a shock to some fans but not too much to others. It seems like Melissa has kept her mouth shut for a while about Teresa's actions, but she has finally decided to speak up during this season's reunion. No matter whose side you are on it is pretty safe to say the two are definitely not speaking anymore. Melissa was asked if the two are speaking during an interview on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, and she simply said "no."

Where Do Teresa And Melissa Stand Now?

Last month, Teresa Giudice revealed Melissa Gorga would not be a bridesmaid at her wedding coming up this summer. This came up during the reunion, and it was apparent that this was pretty upsetting to both Melissa and Joe.

This shocked fans since she revealed it before the reunion and fans didn't know what had happened between them to cause Teresa's decision. It is unclear if Melissa and Joe will even attend the wedding.

In an interview, Melissa said she wishes nothing but the best for Teresa but also stated that they just will not ever be friends. Referring to them ever being best friends she said "at some point you have to say, ‘okay, we’re not going to be this, but we’re family, and we’re going to respect each other."

She also stated that has moved past feeling upset about not being involved in her wedding party.

Teresa had the same feelings about the idea of them ever being best friends. During the reunion, she said "I'm not her best friend, she's not my best friend. We're family." Although it is upsetting to some fans that after many years of peace between the two, they are currently not speaking or even calling each other friends.

What is good is that they are still making sure their families will remain in touch. The RHONJ cast is set to start filming season thirteen this summer, and it is certain to be filled with all the drama.
