Talk show host and Dancing With The Stars alum Ricki Lake remains devastated after losing her house in the Los Angeles wildfires — but days after it happened, she had a startling realization about a then-recent interaction with reality TV medium Tyler Henry.
On January 7, what is now known as the Pacific Palisades fire started burning in Los Angeles — and within a day, the inferno had consumed Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag's house, as well as Paris Hilton's home.
Because the entertainment industry is largely centered in LA, several celebrities lost their houses early on, and Ricki Lake was devastated when hers burned down on January 7.
Ricki's Instagram grid has an unfortunate juxtaposition — on January 1, she optimistically captioned a post: "Sunshine and fun times all 2025. Who’s with me?! 🤗 Happy New Year!"
Whereas on January 9, she posted a sad Reel and a timeline of her fight to save the house she shared with her husband Ross, alongside footage of the encroaching flames:
"1/7/25 The day we lost our home. 😭💔 timeline of our efforts to save our beloved home in Malibu."
Like many of those displaced by the Los Angeles fires, Ricki was clearly in shock and grieving, and in her timeline, Ricki mentioned Ross' attempts to bat the fire back with hose water.
On Friday, January 17, she shared a Reel memorializing her treasured home and garden:
Shock is an unpleasant state of mind to be in, but after the proverbial dust settled, Ricki recalled a conversation with Tyler Henry, and she thinks he predicted the house fire.
'Guys, He SAW The Fire'
Back in October, Ricki enthusiastically told her Instagram followers about her reading with medium Tyler Henry, of Netflix's Live From The Other Side With Tyler Henry.
Ricki was clearly impressed, but the full meaning of what Tyler told her didn't sink in until very recently.
On January 11, Ricki shared a Reel after making the connection between Tyler's predictions in October, and the loss of her house in the Palisades fire:
Ricki recorded a relevant portion from her television screen to show fans what she was talking about during the October reading, and she mentioned that Tyler's house could also be at risk as the fires continued raging in January.
In the clip, Tyler emphasizes that he's not sure if what he's talking about had already happened, and he frets about "sounding concerning."
Before specifically mentioning "a house fire," he says:
" ... there might end up being a coincidence where not only do we lose something [Tyler pauses] ...
" ... I don't know how to articulate this without it sounding concerning.
"If there was a loss of material objects from both fire and water — and water though, that's the kinda weird distinction. It's two separate things."
In Ricki's "timeline" Reel, she mentions "Ross hosing down our neighbors palm tree."
There's a strange sort of symmetry here — as a medium, Tyler Henry purports to "connect" people he reads with lost loved ones, and on Friday, Ricki was still mourning her home in a way not dissimilar to grieving a person.
Alongside another Reel of its interior, she wrote in part: "My 🏠 was a VIBE! Football game on in the living room, Taylor Swift playing on repeat, Courtyard side felt like Bali, the ocean side felt like Big Sur. My favorite place in the entire world. I still can’t believe it’s all gone ..."
Ricki seemed certain in her belief that Tyler predicted the fire that destroyed her beloved house, and it would not be the first time one of his predictions was eerily accurate, apparently manifesting in reality within a few months.
In September 2016, Tyler sat down for a reading with Alan Thicke – who was openly but politely skeptical of the whole thing – and he urged the actor to check in on his heart health.
After receiving the warning, Alan quipped: "Thank you, Dr. Henry. I'm gonna take that to heart."
Alan died of a ruptured aorta on December 13, 2016.
