Rob Dydek went from being a pro skater to a “reality” show star, TV host, and an all-around beloved figure. He became richer than anyone anticipated, thanks to both his long run on MTV and ventures in entrepreneurship. Though he may not be a conventional celebrity, Rob has earned a lot of attention for his time on countless TV shows and his loveable personality.
But when fans found out how Rob met his wife—and more details about her background—they weren't exactly impressed.

Who Is Rob Dyrdek's Wife Bryiana Flores?
At this point in her life, Bryiana Dyrdek is best known as the wife of famed skater and TV personality Rob Dyrdek. However, long before she met the man she married and back when she was known as Bryiana Flores, she was already busy leading a fascinating life.
When she was only 10 years old, the woman who came to be known as Bryiana Dyrdek was diagnosed with a terminal disease. As an adult, Bryiana has talked about being diagnosed with a blood disease at a young age and described being sick all the time.
Sadly, things even looked so bad that the Make-A-Wish Foundation came to Bryiana and fulfilled her wish. Thankfully, Bryiana also described how determined she was to prevail and find her purpose in life which almost certainly played a role in her survival.
Many years after surviving her brush with death, the woman who is now known as Bryiana Dyrdek became a beauty queen. She competed in multiple pageants, later becoming a model.
How Did Rob Dyrdek Meet His Wife Bryiana Noelle Flores?
The apparent "official" answer to how Rob met his wife, per In Touch Weekly, is this: "Rob met the model while attending an event in 2013 and instantly felt a connection with the beauty."
However, the love story isn't quite as simple as the two meeting somewhere public and then tying the knot a while later in 2015.
And it was Bryiana herself who admitted how the pair really met.
In an interview with Carrie Doll, which was later posted to YouTube, Bryiana told fans more about how she and Rob actually met.
"[Dyrdek] started following me on Twitter, and then he started DMing, and then he started texting me and asked if I wanted to hang out," Bryiana explained. She laughed at this point, saying she wasn't going to be "another one" of those, and wasn't going to let Rob "break" her. She noted that she'd heard stories, but didn't elaborate on the rumors about Rob's past prior to their meeting.
Bryiana did elaborate on how she and Rob connected, though, explaining, "I was posting about an animal shelter in Bakersfield that was going out of business so they had to find new homes… so he was like, 'I was thinking we could take a helicopter and save some puppies,' but I didn't know him well enough to know that he was joking."
As it turned out, Rob did show up with a helicopter and the pair's first "date" involved helping find homes for animals at the shelter.
Rob was late, though, Bryiana pointed out, and she almost thought she was being catfished. The story ended happily enough, and the two were married less than two years later.
Did Rob Dyrdek Cross A Line In Flirting With His Now-Wife?
In this day and age, it's not unheard of to meet someone via DMs and even strike up a healthy relationship. But fans were a bit taken aback to hear that Rob Dyrdek found his now-wife on social media and seemingly bombarded her with DMs, texts, and more, just trying to get a date.
The story is especially awkward because Dyrdek is 17 years older than his wife.
When the pair met in 2013, Rob would have been about 38 while his wife was around 21. Though comments on the YouTube interview with Bryiana has lots of "awws" about the pair's connection, the age gap is a bit uncomfortable. Especially because Rob was already a pro athlete when his wife was born.
And yet, age gaps are not uncommon in Hollywood, so hardly anyone batted an eye when it came to Rob and his wife's apparently happy marriage.
Now that the two are both older and share two children, it doesn't seem to matter how far apart in age they are, or how they met.
Some consider the couple's marriage to be over the top, of course, but by all accounts, the way they met definitely started things off on an interesting note.
