Fans of Jimmy Kimmel Live are well aware that things take an awkward twist when any guest defends or praises Donald Trump. Despite being a guest on Jimmy Kimmel's show in the past, things completely soured between the two after Donald Trump became President. Roseanne Barr got to see that firsthand, but it didn't stop her from showing Donald Trump support on the show.
The interview was a bumpy one. Credit to Roseanne Barr though. She held her own, while fans also believe Barr silenced the host multiple times throughout the interview. Even if one doesn't agree with her views, it was entertaining to watch and quite the interview.
Let's recap how it all went down and the most memorable moments from the conversation.
Roseanne Barr Called Out Jimmy Kimmel For His Political Views, While She Was Applauded For Saying She Wanted Donald Trump To Succeed As President
Six years ago, Jimmy Kimmel was brave enough to bring in Roseanne Barr as a guest alongside John Goodman. In terms of pure entertainment, the interview did not disappoint. Both the host and guest put their views on blast at several points throughout the interview. Jimmy Kimmel in particular questioned Roseanne's lack of support for Hillary Clinton, despite the fact that the two used to be friends. As for Roseanne, she didn't give Jimmy the pass, telling the host that his political views changed him and so many others in Hollywood.
“I’m still the same, you all moved so f****** far out you lost everybody.”
Roseanne continued on, questioning Jimmy's support of Hillary Clinton's foreign policy views.
"Did you agree on her foreign policy?"
Once again, Jimmy changed the subject and brings up "Captain Wacko running the country."
That same nervous laugh from Jimmy would continue after Roseanne explains why she wants President Trump to succeed. Her statement actually received an applause from the audience in support of President Trump.
She said, "It’s up to us to make this government work, no matter who’s president. It’s up to us to do our job as citizens and if we don’t like something, let ’em know you don’t like it, and then you’ve got another election in two years. Get out there and vote. Change it if you don’t like it.”
Sadly, given the recent history between the two and the fact that Roseanne was basically canceled, this interview won't happen again. At the very least, fans got to see a great exchange, and a guest that wasn't afraid to oppose Jimmy's views, even if we didn't necessarily agree with it.
The interview got a huge reaction from the fans with over 8K views. The most liked comments read, "Jimmy dodged that Hillary foreign policy question real hard."
Roseanne Barr has a net worth of $70 million.
"Roseanne made Kimmel look like a little boy," another user wrote.
The tension between the two hasn't faded. Even in 2024, all these years later, Jimmy is still ripping on Roseanne for her political views during Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Jimmy Kimmel Recently Mocked Roseanne Barr For Her Continuous Donald Trump
Oh, how the times have changed. Believe it or not, after Roseanne Barr got canceled for her tweet, it was Jimmy Kimmel that came to her defense. He wrote on X, “Please take a breath and remember that mental health issues are real. The Roseanne I know could probably use some compassion and help right now.”
Jimmy Kimmel is making an annual salary of $15 million.
However, in 2023, Roseanne did not show the love back, lashing out at Jimmy Kimmel instead. Roseanne questioned why the late night show host wasn't canceled for his past controversies, including one incident in particular. “Jimmy Kimmel and his [former] girlfriend, Sarah Silverman, they did blackface, and [ABC] never even said ‘It is wrong that you did that.' And they just let that go."
In the more recent times, it was Jimmy Kimmel who mocked Roseanne Barr for going full Mar-a-Lago. Jimmy took exception to Roseanne being the headliner at Donald Trump's fundraiser.
“Please drop out of college because it’s going to ruin your lives," Jimmy Kimmel said in his rant.
Jimmy was taking exception to Roseanne's rant at the event, telling the youth school doesn't teach anything good. “E-mail me or Twitter me or whatever you call me and I’ll help you with your life,” Roseanne said. “But you’ve got to get out of college ’cause it isn’t nothing but devil-worshipping, baby blood-drinking Democrat donors.”
Jimmy continued after showing the Roseanne footage.
“Seems like she’s doing great. I remember a time when Roseanne was a big Democrat donor. She campaigned for Bill Clinton, she gave lots of money… Of course, I remember a time when Donald Trump was a Democrat, too.”
Dough Emhoff and Bruan Tyree Henry were Jimmy Kimmel's recent guests on Live.
With Jimmy's time on Live likely coming to an end with the contract expiration looming, we have clearly seen the end of his interviews alongside Roseanne. However, with elections looming, we clearly haven't seen the last of Donald Trump-related content, and we won't be surprised if Roseanne's name resurfaces at some point in time.
