Sal From Love Is Blind Is Living A Very Different Life After Leaving The Show

Season 5 of the Netflix reality series Love Is Blind premiered in September 2023 and featured more pod dates, shocking reveals, and awkward moments between potential spouses. It feels like the popular show could go on forever since the format is so addictive and people are always looking for love.

While it's impossible for every fan to like everyone on a reality show, viewers had a soft spot for Season 2 cast member Salvador Perez. Sal seemed to try his best to be kind to Mallory Zapata, despite all the twists and turns of their relationship. From his time on the reality show, it was clear that he cared deeply about his family and friends and that he didn't mean for the situation to become as dramatic as it did. Sal Perez is now a realtor

Sal Perez and Mallory Zapata's love story was never smooth. Even when they chatted and laughed in the pods, Mallory had feelings for castmate Jarrette Jones. Mallory decided to explore her connection with Sal. Jarrette married Iyanna McNeely, although the two have since gotten divorced.

It became clear early on that Sal and Mallory might not make it. But even though there were red flags and issues, Sal often seemed to be doing his best to stay polite, calm, and kind.

Now Sal has embarked on a career that seems to be making him really happy. When he appeared on the show, the Love Is Blind Season 2 cast member's job title was an executive assistant for the company Kensium Solutions. Since then, though, he has made some moves.

In September 2023, Sal posted a video on his Instagram account and shared that he had become a real estate broker.

"You might recognize me from the reality show Love Is Blind. But today is not about romance. Today is about embarking on my new journey as a realtor."

Sal continued, "I have always had a deep-rooted passion for real estate and I'm excited to give back to my community right in the heart of Chicago. Being a son to immigrant parents, it is especially important for me to help my Latino community. There's an incredible sense of pride and accomplishment in owning your first home."

Sal is a bit quieter than some other Love Is Blind cast members. Shen he does post on Instagram, Sal shares vacation pictures or fun times with his friend group. Now that he is working in the field of real estate, Sal has opened up about how thrilled he is.

"Feeling very blessed to announce my new real estate journey with you all."

Since becoming a real estate agent means putting in long hours studying and trying to pass an exam, it's no wonder that Sal sounded so happy to be on this path.

After his appearance on Love Is Blind, it sounds like Sal took some time to think about what he went through with Mallory. Sal talked about Love Is Blind with The List and was asked about the connections that he formed with the other men on the show. Sal said that he liked that they were "vulnerable" with one another and that they were able to talk about so much.

Sal also spoke to The List about his time in Mexico with Mallory.

"The biggest lesson I took away was that I could always listen better. I could always not get too ... It's good to be emotional, but it's even better to make sure that your emotions don't get the best of you, and to make sure that you're also listening, and that you're also catering to your partner."

After Season 2 of Love Is Blind aired, people wondered if Sal and co-star Natalie Lee were seeing each other. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight in March 2022, Sal talked about Natalie and how much he cherished their friendship.

"Natalie and I are really good friends. We don't have anything going on. Natalie is just a very sweet person."

Sal went on to say, "I appreciate her a lot and we have been playing around with each other -- but no, we are friends. We are good friends and that is all."

In the Season 2 Love Is Blind: After the Altar special, fans found out that Sal was dating Jessi Palkovic. While there were a few awkward moments between Mallory and Sal, it was clear that Sal and Jessi really liked each other.

Sal appeared on Jessi's Instagram a few times, and she also posted some TikToks showing them having fun on vacation. They seemed to be really together.

However, in October 2022, Jessi spoke to The Sun about the fact that people were really mean to her after they learned that she was dating Sal. It sounds like this was a challenging time in her life.

Jessi explained to The Sun that she wasn't interested in Sal because of his fame and that she feels good about who she is.

“I’m confident in myself and just happened to fall in love with a man on reality television. I didn't do this for clout, I did this for fun."
