As expected, it was an entertaining interview as Ryan Reynolds was a guest on the Today show, discussing his experience in the film, IF. Reynolds admitted that taking on such a role was a no-brainer given the incredible script written by John Krasinski. In addition, it was a chance for the actor to take on something completely different.

Reynolds revealed, "It felt like a live-action Pixar movie. I wanted to do something where nobody was being stabbed in the face. There was no blood in the movie. And also something that my kids can watch, and the parents need to get punched in the heart as well." He continues, "John wrote a script that was so stunning."

The interview was going just fine, until a graphic came up of a character that's a half cat, half octopus.

Reynolds says, "It is cat-o-puss. You know what I mean." Savannah Guthrie interjects, "Octo-pussy. I think that's what it's called." Reynolds jokes, "I think I'm getting James Bond vibes from that name."

Guthrie then realizes she might've messed up. The term was octo-puss. "Oh my God, I have to leave," Guthrie says. Reynolds continues, "We're all canceled this morning. Good job everyone, we did it."

"I don't even know who I am anymore," Guthrie concludes.

Despite the minor bump, the interview was great. Reynolds also discussed other topics during his time on the show, including Taylor Swift and possible baby names.

The hosts asked, “Taylor Swift keeps dropping it into lyrics so just tell us this: Is the fourth child’s name, the baby’s name anywhere on the new record?”

“She’s been wondering if were going to have to wait for another song," Hoda Kotb added.

Reynolds joked that they're patiently waiting for Swift to tell them their child's name.

“We always wait for Taylor to tell us what the child’s name will be." He continued, “We’ll say this. We’re still waiting, so Taylor, let’s maybe start. You know, (she’s a) prolific writer. I mean, what are we doing here? And lazy’s not a word I’d attach to Taylor."

Fans had a blast with the interview, despite the slip up. In truth, it wasn't the first time things went off the rails on the Today show because of a comment from a host.

The Today show had other awkward moments, which included the hosts Kathie Lee Gifford and Hota Kotb suggesting late guest Carrie Fisher had other affairs other than Harrison Ford.

Fisher said, "You're going to get me to say things that I don't like. You jealous girls." Fisher continues, "Is something else going to come out afterwards. Who else did I sleep with?"

Gifford then steps in and only made things that much more awkward.

"The next book, I suppose, because I hear it's quite the list."

Fisher wasn't happy with the comment says, "I was not a s***." Fans weren't thrilled either, going after Gifford.

A fan wrote, "Thank you Carrie for calling out Kathie Lee on her bs...you'd think KL would have at least brushed up on who Mark Hamill is. And then saying that Carrie slept with a long list of men after Harrison Ford at age 19? Carrie called her out on that too. I'm going to miss her dry, acerbic wit.
