Sean Diddy Combs Said Watching Himself In Notorious Was Too Much To Handle

Released back in 2009, the crime/drama Notorious received mixed reviews, while it performed decently at the box office, bringing in $44 million. Among the cast included Derek Luke, playing the role of Sean Combs. Diddy said he was impressed with the actor that played him. So much so, that it caused him to walk out of the theater. Diddy revealed to MTV, "It's rare that you get a movie made about you when you're still relevant, but [they] took on the challenge."

He continues, "People asked me years ago who you'd want to play me, and I said Derek Luke ... so it was just destined. I got to see him do his thing, and it was scary for me. I had to leave, 'cause he was acting just like me."

Diddy showed the same amount of shock when looking at the actor who portrayed B.I.G..

"Gravy, the guy playing B.I.G., it was just too eerie for me to be on that," Combs marveled. "Gravy's killing it. If I tell you he's killing it, then that's all we need to say, you know what I'm saying? I don't think anybody could have done a better job."

Diddy added that the film was all about B.I.G.'s mother. "It's not my movie," Combs said. "A lot of people don't know this, but it's not my movie. It's Miss Wallace's movie. It's from a mother's perspective. I'm just there as support."

Looking back alongside Wendy Williams, Combs admits he feels responsible for Notorious B.I.G.'s death. Diddy felt as though he was his artist. "I think I'll always feel some sort of responsibility because I'm in this thing with him. He's my artist."

Diddy also still remembers the final chat between the two.

"He was supposed to go to London that night and I let him talk me into not going to London and staying in L.A.," Diddy detailed. "That's something that really bothered me throughout my life. Sometimes you have to really go with that decision in your gut and in my gut it was like, 'You need to get on the plane.'"

“Every Biggie movie that you see, they say it’s a drive-by. When the witness tells you the car was stood right there at the corner — the car was probably there all night.”

Deal adds that those who were speaking about the info on Biggies' death weren't even there.

“It just hurts because they lie too much,” he said. “A lot of that sh** be lies the way they put it together, ’cause they listening to these white boys who wasn’t even there. I don’t want to make this racial, but they take these white boys who wasn’t even there and want to use the stories that they want to tell, which is not the truth!

He continues, "Wasn’t no drive-by; the car was standing there at the corner. The stories they tell is not truthful. And now people are sitting here believing.”

More than two decades later, there are still more questions than answers regarding his death.
