Sean Evans Admitted To Having A List Of His Favorite Guests On Hot Ones

Looking back at Sean Evans and Hot Ones, fans have memories of so many moments. Gordon Ramsay's interview will always be among the most valued, especially given the chef's reaction to Da Bomb. Although that was memorable for all the right reasons, that hasn't held true for all the interviews. Evans hasn't discussed a list of his worst, but fans have reason to believe DJ Khaled is close to the top, given how underwhelming his performance was battling the wings.

As for some of his top interviews, Evans had revealed a few top names in the past. Evans especially appreciated some of the behind the scenes moments.

“There’s some that I like based on some sort of weird behind-the-scenes story about how it galvanized the show together. That’s Ricky Gervais and Russell Brand,” he says. “It’s those episodes that have a special place in my heart.”

Evans would also praise his famous interview alongside Paul Rudd, calling it among his better moments on a 'good vibes' level.

Despite the show's success and the best of the best appearing, Evans admits there are still some guests he hasn't been able to entice. One in particular is extra special.

During his conversation with People, Sean Evans called Howard Stern a dream guest. While studying for his future career in journalism, Evans used Stern as a major source of motivation. As expected, the Hot Ones team reached out to Stern about a possible run against the wings. However, Evans isn't sure it'll ever come to fruition much to his dismay.

“Will Howard be scorching on chicken wings for the Internet’s amusement? Knowing what I know about him, as a gambling man, I don’t know if that’s where the money is,” he says, “but you never know.”

In fairness to Evans, rarely does Howard Stern take on interviews in the first place, especially at this point in his career. And in truth, Hot Ones has a huge demand of guests, so Evans and company aren't losing sleep over it. Kevin Smith caused some controversy when he created his own spoof, Not Ones, taking on vegan wings. Alongside Jason Mewes, Smith made quite the reveal, stating that he was rejected by Sean Evans.

"I thought with a new movie coming out that we would be able to go on to that show. But our publicist reached out to the other show and they said they weren't interested."

Evans actually took the time to address the statement on Twitter, stating that Smith's suggestion wasn't entirely true.

"I have to address this Kevin Smith situation, which is by the way, blown up completely out of proportion," Evans revealed on Twitter. "For the record, we have never ever passed on Kevin Smith for lack of interest, In fact, we had a conversation going with his team that I thought was going really positive."

Smith maintained his stance that the show wasn't interested. In turn, he also faced some heat from the fans for his spoof.

"This was done in fun," Smith told the fans. "Please don't get sh*** at Hot Ones over this. This has been my favorite Jay and Silent Bob Reboot promo thus far, and it never would've happened under any other circumstance. Not Ones is not meant to incite revolt, it's meant to remind you that if no band will have you, simply start your own band with your friends!"

Thankfully for some fans, Not Ones did not become a weekly episode...
