Summary

  • Shiloh Jolie-Pitt focuses on dance, not fame, displaying hard work and talent without using celebrity connections.
  • Choreographer was unaware of Shiloh's background, praising her dedication and sincerity, urging others to see beyond celebrity status.
  • Shiloh distances herself from parents in Hollywood, dropping last name Pitt to forge a unique path, just like siblings interested in showbiz.

Shiloh Jolie-Pitt may be trying to break into the acting industry, but her choreographer is reassuring the public that she’s not trying to rely on her parents’ famous names, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, to get ahead. In fact, he wasn’t even aware Shiloh comes from such a prestigious family when he first met her.

“Shiloh is an exceptionally talented dancer, demonstrating dedication and hard work,” her choreographer, Kelaan Carter, said during an interview with Daily Mail. “She is a sincere and straightforward person who never uses her celebrity status to her advantage.”

“Honestly, I didn’t even know who she was at first and I don’t think this matters, especially in a dance studio,” he continued. “I understand that it can be difficult to see the person beyond her celebrity status, but I urge you to make an effort for her. Believe me, it is worth it.”

Why Shiloh Is Distancing Herself From Her Parents

Keelan’s comments come after previous reports said Shiloh wants to follow in her parents’ footsteps. "Shiloh can see herself working behind the scenes in Hollywood, producing like her dad or directing like her mom,” a source told Life & Style.

"She’s been around the world and has experienced a lot already, so her background and observations could really take her far,” they continued.

Fans were initially surprised to learn Shiloh recently dropped Brad’s last name (just as her sisters Vivienne and Zahara have apparently done), leading to speculation over their relationship, though previous reports say Shiloh remains close to her dad despite some of her siblings being estranged from him. One report from earlier this year said she even wanted to move in with her dad, despite his contentious co-parenting relationship with Angelina.

But given claims that Shiloh is trying to distance herself from her parents to make her own name in Hollywood, dropping the surname Pitt could simply be a practical move and not a sign that things are bad between her and Brad.

Shiloh isn’t the first of her siblings to follow in her parents’ footsteps. Many of them have already expressed an interest in establishing careers in the industry. Last year, Angelina made public her youngest daughter’s Broadway assistant role on her production of The Outsiders, expressing her decision to involve Vivienne in the production to nurture her passion for the arts.

"Viv reminds me of my mother in that she isn't focused on being the center of attention but in being a support to other creatives," she disclosed to E! News. "She's very thoughtful and serious about theatre and working hard to best understand how to contribute."

Angelina's collaboration with her children on projects is not unprecedented. In the past, she worked with her eldest sons, Pax and Maddox, on her upcoming film Without Blood. Pax also assisted Angelina in her 2017 directorial debut, First They Killed My Father.

However, Brad reportedly holds suspicions regarding Angelina's intentions behind letting Vivienne be a production assistant. "He thinks this is just another attempt by Angie to drive a wedge between him and his daughter," a source revealed to Life & Style. "It’s no secret that Angie’s always trying to make sure the kids are Team Mom. She’s a master manipulator when it comes to the children taking sides."

Nevertheless, Brad continues to remain silent on speculation surrounding his relationship with his children.
