Sofia Vergara is getting used to her new single status amid her divorce from Joe Manganiello, and it appears her America’s Got Talent co-stars are, too, as she was the subject of a cringey joke made by fellow judge Howie Mandel recently.
Howie Mandel Told A Contestant To Set Sofia Vergara Up
During Tuesday’s episode, ventriloquist and mentalist Brynn Cummings gave an act in which he jokingly said he should “set” Heidi Klum up with his puppet, Lovebird. This led Howie to make a comment about how Brynn should be using his talents on the newly single Sofia, not Heidi Klum, who’s married.
"I have one more piece of advice for you: if you're looking for eligible bachelors, you should've talked to Sofía because she's in the market right now,” Howie said.
Sofia didn’t directly comment on her co-judge’s joke, rather, she seemingly brushed it off by cheering and throwing her hands in the crowd alongside the live audience. AGT host Terry Crews appeared to try and make light of the situation as he kept the show flowing, saying, "No, we're not doing that here!"
Though Sofia still remained silent, Heidi piped in, saying, "Well, thank you that you picked me. I think I did a fantastic job and so did you."
Joe Manganiello Is Divorcing Sofia Vergara Because She Doesn’t Want Kids
Joe and Sofia shocked fans when they released a joint statement in July revealing their decision to separate following seven years of marriage.
“We have made the difficult decision to divorce,” they said. “As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect for our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.”
Days later, Joe filed for divorce and cited “irreconcilable differences.” However, many fans wanted to know the truth about what made the seemingly-solid couple split so suddenly.
Following the divorce announcement, reports began to suggest that Joe and Sofia’s diverging stances on having kids is what drove them apart. Apparently, Joe, 46, has a desire to have biological children, while Sofia, 51, doesn’t want any more kids. She already has a 31-year-old son from a previous relationship.

“They have been spending time apart and focusing on themselves, their careers, and their loved ones. Sofia has been giving her all to her new beauty brand, toty, and is very involved and excited about it,” another source told Entertainment Tonight.
Though Sofia and Joe’s divorce has yet to be finalized, they reportedly have a pre-nup that dictates the division of their assets, hopefully helping to make the situation smoother.
