Bill Cosby Had A Questionable Reputation Behind The Scenes On David Letterman's Late Show
Prior to the allegations, David Letterman admitted to Bill Cosby's influence on his own career, especially given his approach to comedy.
Letterman tells GQ, "When I started in comedy, all my buddies were writing jokes, and you lived and died by the jokes. But if you're telling stories, you have a better chance of survival because of the personal connection."
"You're exposing yourself. I can remember Louis C.K. saying…and everybody felt this way…that the best at doing that was Bill Cosby. He would come out and spend 90 minutes just telling you stories."
Not only did things take a turn, but Cosby also had odd behaviors behind the scenes on the Late Show. Among the things he would do prior to a show was asking the interns to eat with him - though he hardly spoke a word to them.
"He'd include as a request, before he arrived, that the young girls, interns and assistants, all had to gather around in the green room backstage and sit down and watch him eat curry," the Ny Daily News source revealed. "No one would say anything, and he would sit silently eating and make us watch and want us to watch."
In addition, the Late Show was front and center once the allegations started to surface. In November of 2014, Cosby's team canceled his appearance on the show. Variety writes, "Bill Cosby has canceled an appearance on “The Late Show with David Letterman” scheduled for Wednesday as mainstream media outlets heighten the scrutiny of longstanding allegations of sexual assault leveled against the comedian."
"A rep for Cosby did not respond to a request for comment. CBS would not comment on the change in “Late Show’s” Wednesday guest lineup."
Prior to the assault allegations, Cosby was a major part of the Late Show and he even got to host. However, looking back, even that was extremely tainted and Sophia Vergara knows all about that.
Bill Cosby's Comments For Sofia Vergara Were Over The Top Throughout Their Interview
Sofia Vergara enters the chat in a great mood, but we assume things took a turn for the actress... Cosby says he's "excited" for the chat, while he also switches places so he can get closer the star. Not only were Cosby's words inappropriate, but the same held true for the way he was looking at the Modern Family star.
He said, "What you have on tonight is wonderful," he commented, adding: "This is just wonderful. When you walked out, many people became attentive.”
Credit to Vergara who was doing her best to deflect the attention throughout the interview. "Don’t die on me! This is my first time on American TV. Don’t die here! But maybe if you do die, I will be very famous. Tomorrow, everybody will know me. Bill Cosby died interviewing Sofia Vergara.”

This time, Sofia Vergara pushed back. Gordon Ramsay made inappropriate comments throughout their interview alongside Jay Leno. It started with a comment about Sofia eating pizza, and would just get far more inappropriate along the way.
"I don't scream like that in real life," Vergara says. "Only in the bedroom," Ramsay responds.
Once again, Vergara handled the awkward situation as best she possibly could, and got the respect of fans for it.
"Sofia is the ultimate woman. Smart, sooo funny and witty, talented, bomb figure, gorgeous face, seems like a great mom, hardworking and doesn't get intimidated or feel invalidated by misogyny. These two had NO CLUE how to act around her."
Another fan writes, "This is very cringy to watch. But Sofia was really classy."
