Season 10 of Southern Charm kicked off with a few new romances. In Episode 1, fans were introduced to Austen Kroll's new love interest, Audrey Pratt aka Pooks, and Taylor Ann Green moved on from Shep Rose and is dating Gaston Rojas, who is not a fan-favorite with newbie Salley Carson. In Episode 2, viewers met the woman Shep was "enthralled" with—Sienna Evans, who is Miss Bahamas.

However, a relationship fans didn't see coming was between Jarrett "JT" Thomas and Venita Aspen. The Season 10 trailer showed JT shockingly admitting he was attracted to Venita and the latter feeling the same. However, with JT resigning from the show mid-season, and later broadcasting a relationship with a new woman on Instagram, was it all just a ruse? Venita finally addresses everything fans are dying to know.

When the Season 10 trailer for Southern Charm dropped, one of the most shocking scenes was JT Thomas confessing that he was attracted to his co-star, Venita Aspen. Even more jaw-dropping was seeing Venita nodding her head yes when asked if she felt the same way.

With Season 10 underway, viewers have seen Venita being a superb friend to JT. After an accident in Costa Rica that leaves JT walking around with a cane, Venita is there to help him, even picking out an outfit for him for the Caroline Cup in the very first episode.

However, when JT resigned from Southern Charm a month before its premiere, fans speculated if his declaration of attraction to Venita was even real. During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Venita shared that what viewers were seeing was very "real" and "not misleading."

"That was JT really letting me know that he had feelings for me … the tension is high this season."

In her interview with ET, Venita expressed that their close friendship turning into something more was a "natural occurrence," but she was not fully prepared for JT to spill his affections towards her, which is what fans see in the trailer.

"It was weird. I did not know that was going to happen at that moment. It was just kind of an 'Oh.' We had spoken about it once before, and we were going to take our time and see how it goes, we will continue to be the best of friends ... I was a little shocked ot hear him say that out loud, I was like, 'Okay, we're doing it, we're going straightforward, cool,'" Venita shared.

The love between JT and Venita seemed to fade away after multiple women claimed that they had romantic relationships with the former after the trailer was dropped. In fact, JT oddly hard launched his relationship with another woman named Ali Pereless on Instagram. Sharing several photos of Ali, he captioned his post, "long overdue."

While speaking with ET, Venita admitted that she was blindsided by JT's Instagram post. "You should have seen my smile disappear pretty quickly," the reality star said.

“That was a lot. I don’t think anyone was expecting that at all. And it was kind of like, ‘Ok what the f*** is actually happening?’ And, ‘did I just get played?’ … I think I just got played."

Since then, Venita told the reporter that her relationship with JT had shifted. Just days after launching his new relationship with Ali, JT revealed that he was resigning from Southern Charm, but did not state why.

"He’s kind of gone rogue and silent, and he’s not speaking to anyone, [and] has made the sad decision to step away. So hopefully he shows up to the reunion to kind of clear up this mess."

Venita added that she really was his only friend during Season 10, and he ruined it with his actions. "And if he doesn’t, God rest his soul … It’s easy to resign when nobody wanted you there in the first place. And you only had one person who actually did, and then you lost that."

In Season 10, JT finds himself at odds with many of his co-stars. As he stated in Episode 3, he "missed the mark" when he handed Patricia Altschul a cane at the Carolina Cup. However, what was more bizarre was how much he was gossiping about his cast while hanging out with Shep and Craig Conover at a golf simulator. JT makes wild accusations about Austen being with multiple women while dating his new girlfriend, and believes that Madison LeCroy's husband thinks his wife had an affair with him while the cast was on a trip to Jamaica.

It also didn't help that Craig might have made up a lie that JT called Miss Patricia a b**** while the three men were hanging out.

Later in Episode 3, Madison confronts JT about his lies. In fact, she detailed that he had lost a friend because of his wild theories. "He made a huge mistake. I don't think he realized he lost a good friend," she states in a confessional.

JT's other co-stars also believe that it was how bad he messed up his relationship with Venita that ultimately saw him resign from the show.

Speaking with Us Weekly, Austen shared, "I don’t think that Venita’s very pleased with him." Leva Bonaparte also believed this to be true. "I think the Venita and JT of it all was complicated. And I think that wore on him too and wore on Venita," she said.

Leva added, "JT is so chaotic, which I think makes for great TV but it's not a show. He's a choatic person and he kind of has no chill." Fans have already seen much of that happen in just the first three episodes of Season 10.
