Star Wars has introduced fans to plenty of iconic heroes and villains since A New Hope came out in 1977. Each time a new trilogy has come out, fans have become divided by their opinions of the storylines, and most importantly, the characters.

No matter what, as new characters are introduced, fans will always debate over who is the most powerful. Sometimes even the actors get involved in the debates. When CBR posted an article explaining why they believe Rey is stronger than Anakin and Luke Skywalker, John Boyega (Finn) shared the article on social media with the caption, "I'm sorry guys but Anakin slapping all of us in a pit of lava. Including Kylo."

In hopes of finally ending this debate, we've done some research and prepared our own official ranking of every force user in Star Wars canon, based on their abilities and the battles we've seen on the big and small screen.

15 Qui-Gon Jinn Was Strong But Taken Out Too Soon

Even though viewers have only seen Qui-Gon Jinn use the force a few times, he's secured a spot on the list because he is, after all, a Jedi master.

Maybe if he didn't fall at the hands of Darth Maul so soon, fans would have gotten the chance to see what he was truly capable of.

14 Cal Kestis Is Powerful But He's No Jedi Master

Cal Kestis started out with a weak connection to the Force in Jedi: Fallen Order, but over the course of the game, he proved himself worthy enough to be one of the most powerful force users.

The only reason why he's not higher on this list is that as powerful as he is, he still ran away from Darth Vader instead of engaging in combat.

13 Ventress Was A Formidable Opponent For Anakin

Anakin Skywalker was undoubtedly a high-tier force user, being the chosen one and all.

The fact that Asajj Ventress was able to hold her ground while battling both Anakin and his Jedi master Obi-Wan Kenobi multiple times proves that she's an incredibly powerful adversary.

12 Ahsoka Fared Well Against Darth Vader

Not only was Ahsoka Tano trained by Anakin Skywalker, but she also battled him as Darth Vader and survived to tell the tale in Star Wars: Rebels.

She injured him quite badly too, so clearly, he trained her well. From Clone Wars to Rebels, viewers can tell that Ahsoka has advanced a lot in the force, easily making her one of the most powerful.

11 Count Dooku Was Taught The Ways Of The Force By Yoda

Count Dooku was trained by both the most powerful Jedi (Yoda) and the most powerful Sith lord (Sidious), but compared to everyone else on this list, he doesn't have the strongest connection with the force.

As powerful as he is, he still wasn't strong enough to take down Anakin in Revenge of the Sith.

10 Mace Windu Doesn't Need The Force To Win A Battle

Mace Windu was a Jedi Master and member of the high council, which alone is worthy of praise.

He's also one of the best at battling with a lightsaber out of everyone in Star Wars, giving him little use of the force in combat.

Even Anakin Skywalker referred to Windu as one of the most powerful Jedis in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones.

9 Darth Maul Was A 'Great Loss' To Palpatine

Darth Maul made the biggest impact on fans when he first appeared in Attack of the Clones, and with good reason.

Maul was skilled in many fighting styles and resisted death from Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Based on his battle with Darth Sidious in The Clone Wars, it's clear that he's one of the most powerful, but still not the best.

8 Darth Plagueis Was Powerful But Not Wise

There have only been references of Darth Plagueis in the movies, but from what fans have heard, Plagueis had such a strong connection with the force that he became paranoid about losing power.

His biggest mistake was telling all of his secrets to his apprentice, Palpatine, who ended up betraying him and being the cause of his demise.

7 Kylo Ren Was Full Of Potential

Anyone part of the Skywalker bloodline is likely to have a strong connection to the force. Kylo Ren doesn't disappoint when it comes to his abilities, having been trained by his uncle Luke he's obviously skilled.

But when it comes down to it, he's lost battles to both Luke and Rey, so he's still not quite the best.

6 Obi-Wan Kenobi Bested Anakin Skywalker

Obi-Wan Kenobi was responsible for training Luke and Anakin, who were both highly skilled.

Kenobi held the high ground against Anakin in Revenge of the Sith and showed him that he was still the master. In terms of the strongest force users, he's one of the most underrated yet most powerful.
