Stephen Colbert Told Dakota Johnson His Story About The Met Gala Was Going To Be Cut By CBS

Looking back, this was one of the more entertaining Stephen Colbert interviews ever to take place. Fans clearly had a blast with it as it was viewed by a near 6 million people over the last seven years.

Colbert and Johnson had just seen each other the day prior at the Met Gala, and were discussing their time at the event. In addition, Colbert recalled a request Dakota Johnson made during their interaction together. Johnson wanted shots for their interview, though unfortunately for the host, those shots were tequila.

The interview definitely took a turn when the shots entered the picture. Colbert in particular told a random story about a lady smoking in the men's bathroom. He said, “You don’t want to go to the bathroom next to a woman holding something burning."

The moment between Colbert and Johnson featured a lot of laughs. Colbert in particular wasn't sure as to how much of it CBS would use. He said, "All of this is going to be cut out, CBS won't be putting any of this on TV. Tequila is kicking in at this point."

Hilariously, CBS did in fact air the footage. Even Johnson's snort laugh.

Stephen Colbert Had Other Questionable Interview Moments That Surprisingly Made It On Air

There were other interview moments that CBS surprisingly kept in. Who can forget the time Aziz Ansari took a shot at CBS for their lack of diversity on Stephen Colbert's show?

"Is having you on my show… does that count [towards increasing diversity] at all?” Ansari responds, “Yeah, it’s really diverse right now. 50% of the people on TV [right now] are non-white. This is like an all-time high for CBS."

Following the hilarious moment, it seemed like Colbert wanted to add to that, but kept quiet.

Another "awkward" moment took place during Stephen's interview with Kristen Stewart. The host told his guest that CBS wanted to ban her Rolling Stone cover, but he did not agree.

He tells Stewart, "Now before I show this cover, I just want you to know and the audience to know that I think it’s a perfectly lovely cover,” he said. “We were asked by CBS not to show it. They thought that would be not a good idea for us to show this, and I don’t know understand why. Because there’s the cover, right there."

That took a lot of courage for Stephen Colbert to let out, and ultimately, it was not edited out of the episode.
