The interview appeared to go downhill from that point on, as Colbert proceeded with a Donald Trump Twitter exchange question, one that had taken place years ago and clearly, a question she had answered numerous times in the past. Fans Weren't Pleased With Colbert's Questions And Actions Throughout The Interview With Stewart

"I love Stephen but I think there is room for improvement with his interviewing. It's not his strongest suit. Sometimes it's great but he can be quite hit and miss. Maybe it's because he's such a master at everything else that I notice it more but he's had more than his fair share of awkward interview moments."

As this fan mentioned on Reddit, Colbert's interview alongside Stewart wasn't his best work. That sentiment was echoed by several fans as according to the general feedback, Colbert struggles when it comes to certain styles of interviews.

"Colbert's never been the best interviewer when it comes to pop culture and film media. I don't think he's a big TV/Movie watcher, so he doesn't have the same interest or ability to ask the fun questions you'd expect. He's great on politics, religion, business because those are things he genuinely finds interesting."

Fans on YouTube also seem to agree, the interview was not good and in truth, Stewart might never be back again.

"Why would you bring up her cheating in the past?? I have a feeling she will never be back on that show."

Not the way either of the two wanted the interview to go but hey, at least the awkwardness will live on forever.
