Sterling K. Brown has become a popular face in the last few years thanks to his starring role on NBC's hit drama This Is Us and his casting in large films like Marvel's Black Panther.
But Brown was well into this career when this mainstream success came along, and he spent years doing odd acting gigs. Somewhat surprisingly, This Is Us picked up traction and successfully nailed its six pre-planned seasons.
Brown, of course, was along for the ride. He's been acting professionally since 2002 and by his side that whole time has been his college sweetheart turned wife, Ryan Michelle Bathe.
Behind any good man is a good woman and Sterling certainly has one in his wife. Ryan is also an actress and the couple has been involved in the same projects as each other. Bath and Brown have been together for a long time and seem to be relationship goals for anyone looking for some role models.

Sterling And Ryan Met In College
Just like Brown's well-liked character Randall from This Is Us, he met the love of his life in college. Art imitates life sometimes, but unlike Randall, they both weren't smitten upon the first meeting. Both Bathe and Brown are very smart and attended Stanford University and met there as freshmen.
They bonded over a love of acting and went on to perform in many plays together, even living in the same dorm. However, they weren't attracted to each other at first. At least Bathe wasn't noticing Brown as much.
They were just friends, to begin with, but Brown took notice of his future wife. Besides both choosing to go to Stanford and wanting to be actors, they had a lot more in common that they discovered while getting to know each other that first year at school.
As it turned out, before heading to Stanford, they both came from St. Louis and were even born in the same hospital months apart. Apparently, their parents even attended rival high schools in St. Louis.
The future couple never met in St. Louis, but this must have been fate.
Sterling And Ryan Didn't Talk For A Few Years
Even though they met and dated in college, it wasn't all rainbows and sunshine for Sterling and his now-wife.
As many young on and off couples, they had a lot of "off" moments and endured multiple breakups. Brown has even said that the future spouses didn't talk at one point for three years. Yikes.
But they obviously found their way back together every time and have supported each other professionally ever since. This couple has been officially on since 2004. Sometimes some time apart is all a couple needs to find each other.
Both Brown and Bathe wanted to act professionally, so that's what they did. And they each found success in their own right; Sterling and Ryan both have long acting resumes.
While Sterling has become more of a household name thanks to the success of This Is Us, and his film appearance. Besides Black Panther, Brown was in The Predator and had a voice role in the hugely successful Frozen 2 sequel.
She may not have as much mainstream success, but his wife Ryan has also had a great acting career and has scored a lot of great roles.
Ryan Michelle Bathe Has Found Her Own Success
Bathe began acting professionally 2001 and has had multiple guest appearances on television shows since 2001. She has appeared in episodes of E.R, Girlfriends, Half and Half, How I Met Your Mother, and Bones.
The acting spouses even work together and seem to enjoy it because it happens often. When Bathe was a regular on Boston Legal, Brown made a guest appearance. Bathe has had a recurring role on This Is Us as the mother of a friend of young Randall (Brown's character).
They also appeared together in Brown's series Army Wives. The couple spent time growing their career but have also started a family; Brown and Bathe are the proud parents of two sons.
They both are still working actors and have a lot of success. Bathe can be seen next in the new TV show The Endgame and has had a starring role on the BET+ version on The FIrst Wives Club.
