Amanda Kimmel Blamed Colby Donaldson For Letting The Villains Win During Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villains

During the early years of Survivor, the show had three main players who were deemed to be the biggest heroes. During the first 20 seasons of Survivor, the three people who were considered the biggest heroes were Rupert Boneham, Cirie Fields, and Colby Donaldson.

In Colby's case, the fact that he carried his tribe during challenges and brought Tina Wesson to the final tribal council left fans adoring him. However, one Survivor player from the same era was very frustrated with Colby when she played with him.

During Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains, Amanda Kimmel and Colby were part of the same tribe. When Amanda looked back at one of the most infamous moments from Heroes vs. Villains, she blamed Colby for being checked out and judging her.

When Survivor: Heroes vs Villains was airing, Amanda Kimmel was voted out of the game relatively early. After her exit, Amanda was interviewed by Entertainment Weekly about one of the show's most infamous moments featuring her, Colby, and Danielle DiLorenzo.

While watching the scene play out, Colby weighed in by telling Amanda to give the clue back to Danielle. At the time, it seemed like Colby was just tired of the scene and wanted the fighting to end. After Colby called her out, a frustrated-looking Amanda ultimately gave the clue back to Danielle.

During Amanda's 2010 EW interview, Amanda stated that Colby's comments were the reason she gave the clue back to Danielle. As Amanda explained, Colby questioning her ethics at that moment got to her.

"My weakness is I have a big conscience and I feel bad about things pretty quickly. I’m not Jewish or anything; it just happens. So Colby just like struck a nerve, questioning my character, and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, what am I doing? This is so not my character.’ I was so confused at that point. I didn’t know what to do."

Amanda then went on to talk to EW's interviewer about what was riding at that moment. As Amanda explained, she felt her alliance's fate, which included Colby, was riding on her getting the immunity clue.

"But I knew if we didn’t get it we were out, we were toast. There were a lot of people counting on me on my team; Colby was one of them. I don’t know what he was talking about, he needed it just as much as I did."

Why 'Survivor's' Sabiyah Broderick Felt Disappointed By Fans Questioning If Her Tribemate Emily Flippen Was Racist

'Survivor's' Sabiyah Broderick stuck up for her tribemate who blindsided her, Emily Flippen, after she was accused of racism.

In response to that statement from Amanda, EW's interviewer suggested that Colby seemed checked out at that moment. The interviewer likely didn't recognize how much that would trigger Amanda.

Not only did Amanda agree that Colby seemed checked out, but she clearly blamed him for that. After all, she explained that she had told Colby that it was important to find the clue, but he didn't seem to bother.

"He was checked out the whole entire time. We went through the whole entire challenge and I told Colby, ‘We have to find this no matter what. We have to look for it and get it before Danielle. That’s what we have to do, that’s our goal. Don’t be distracted by anything, the food or anything. We have a job, we have to do this, or else we’ll be toast.’"

While still talking to EW, Amanda continued venting her frustrations about Colby not looking for the immunity clue.

"Even though I made it very clear what we had to do, he didn’t look for it once. I was looking for it the entire time. It was my mistake that Danielle had it because I gave her the popcorn and I was so mad about it. Still, if Colby was right next to me, he should have been looking too. I shouldn’t have been doing it all. I’m just one woman for God’s sake."

During an infamous moment from Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains' reunion, Jeff Probst called Amanda out for not sticking to her gut. After mentioning that Amanda made it to the final tribal council and lost twice, Jeff infamously and harshly remarked that she wasn't cutthroat enough to win.

"You are one of only 4 people to make it to the end twice. You, Sandra, Parvati, and Russell. You're the only 4 people who've done that and yet, there's this one quality that seems to allude you and it's that killer instinct. Does this haunt you in life as well?"

Stunningly enough, during Amanda's aforementioned EW interview, the outlet's interviewer called the Survivor player out similarly.

"J.T. wanted to give the immunity idol to Russell, and you thought it might be a huge mistake but you ultimately went along with it. Colby said Danielle should have gotten the clue back, and you knew that was a huge mistake but ultimately you went along with it. The biggest problem in this game was you basically not sticking to your guns, right?"

During her EW interview, Amanda defended herself for backing down in those situations. Amanda defended herself by arguing that she would have been on the chopping block immediately if she had stuck to her gut in those situations.
