Since Survivor premiered in the year 2000, it has been widely recognized as one of the best reality shows ever. That makes sense since Jeff Probst's show has featured everything from medical evacuations, fantastic seasons that fans loved, and truly amazing winners. Survivor's legacy has also been expanded now that some of the show's best players ever have gone on to compete during seasons of The Traitors.
Even though The Traitors has a major flaw, it is a great show as the Big Brother icon Dr. Will Kirby once exclusively told TheThings. Since it is a successful enough show that it seems like it will be around for years, it is fascinating to look at which former Survivor players should get to compete on The Traitors.
Why Survivor's Genevieve Mushaluk Needs To Compete On The Traitors
During Survivor 47, fans of the beloved reality show were introduced to several new cast members who were very compelling. However, no matter how much fans liked many of the season's other cast members, Genevieve Mushaluk is the Survivor 47 star who would be great for The Traitors.
Throughout Survivor 47, Genevieve proved repeatedly that she is fiercely intelligent and socially aware. As a result, Genevieve was even able to get Rome Cooney and Sol Yi to work together, even though they were enemies in the game.
As any fan of The Traitors should know, Genevieve's intelligence and ability to get people to see things her way would be great in the castle. After all, it is easy to imagine Genevieve handling herself excellently during banishment ceremonies and during conversations.
If that wasn't enough reason for her to play during The Traitors, Genevieve was memorably able to emotionally divorce herself during Survivor. As Genevieve explained during Survivor 47, she intentionally avoided creating emotional bonds with her tribemates. The reason Genevieve did that was so her strategic decisions wouldn't be clouded by her emotions.

Votes Against Genevieve Mushaluk | 9 |
When Was Genevieve Mushaluk Voted Out | 14th Voted Out/Day 24 |
Genevieve Mushaluk's Placement | 5th Place |
Genevieve's ability to hold her emotions back would make her a perfect person to be a Traitor in Alan Cumming's castle.
All things considered, it seems like Genevieve would be great at every aspect of The Traitors if she gets the chance to play.
Why Survivor's Q Burdette Needs To Compete On The Traitors
During Survivor 46, fans of CBS' long-lasting show were introduced to Quintavius "Q" Burdette. An incredibly entertaining player, Q was fascinating to watch play on Jeff Probst's show. Since he has such a captivating personality and is true to himself, Q would be the kind of player to make The Traitors entertaining.

Survivor 47’s Sam Phalen Reveals Which Season Is Overrated
Survivor 47’s Sam Phalen called out a season with the show's biggest legends as being overrated.
Easily the most memorable moment from Survivor 46 was when Liz Wilcox had a complete meltdown over not being included in an Applebees reward. What sometimes gets forgotten is that Q was the one who didn't choose Liz for the reward. Not only that, after Liz's meltdown, Q didn't falter at all as he continued to insist that she wouldn't be included in the reward.
In September 2024, Parade published questionnaires Survivor 46's cast answered before the game. In his answers, Q Burdette revealed that he considers himself to be a risk-taker, which may help him during The Traitors. " I think my friends would describe me as the crazy, risk-taking friend. They would probably add that I am the luckiest person they know."
The fact that Q was so confident in his decision that he didn't back down even in response to that display of emotion would make him great for The Traitors. After all, Q would add an element of chaos to the game since the other players almost certainly wouldn't be able to manipulate him to their side.
Some fans also seem to have forgotten how observant Q was during Survivor 46. For example, Q would find out who his tribemates' favorite player from past seasons were and draw conclusions based on their answers.
The fact that Q is always looking for evidence to understand fellow players would make him a great part of The Traitors' cast. It would be fantastic to see Q successfully work as a detective finding the Traitors. On the other hand, if Q came to the wrong conclusion, which anyone in that position could, it would alternatively be entertaining to watch him be confident and wrong.
Why Survivor's Eliza Orlins Needs To Compete On The Traitors
Arguably one of the most underrated Survivor players ever, Eliza Orlins deserves to be given the respect she deserves. Obviously an extremely intelligent person when she played Survivor both times, her life since then indicates she would be a spectacular addition to The Traitors.

Is Hosting The Traitors Alan Cumming’s Hardest Acting Role Ever?
Alan Cumming has starred in lots of movies and TV shows but hosting The Traitors may just be the hardest acting job he has ever had.
After playing Survivor, Eliza went on to become a lawyer in New York. Eliza even ran for office when she worked to be elected as Manhattan's district attorney. As a part of that process, Eliza became the subject of a personal website that contained a biography which described her impressive legal career.
"Eliza Orlins is a Manhattan public defender and outspoken advocate for our city’s most vulnerable. For more than a decade, she has represented over 3,000 New Yorkers who otherwise would not have been able to afford a lawyer. During this time, Eliza has developed a reputation as a relentless champion for the underdog."
During the second season of The Traitors, Phaedra Parks became extremely popular with the show's cast. Part of the reason for that is because Phaedra used the skills she honed as an attorney to argue for herself in captivating ways. Given her legal career, it would be fantastic to see how Eliza would advocate for herself if she got to compete on The Traitors.
On top of being such a fiercely intelligent person, Eliza's social game has always been fascinating to watch. Similar to Q, Eliza has always come across as someone who is true to herself. At times in the past, it has been very clear that Eliza's personality has rubbed some of her tribemates the wrong way.
On the other hand, it also is well-known that Eliza has built strong friendships with other Survivor players. Eliza even became close enough with Corinne Kaplan that they went on The Amazing Race together, as can be seen in a YouTube video that chronicles their partnership.
Given the social complexity of The Traitors, it would be interesting to see who Eliza would get along with in the house and who she wouldn't see eye to eye with.
Why Survivor's Jonny Fairplay Needs To Compete On The Traitors
Easily one of the most infamous reality stars of all-time, Jonny Fairplay is the kind of person who is going to mix things up in any group he is a part of. If Jonny gets the chance to compete on The Traitors, and he should, he should be cast in a role that would play against his reputation.

Jonny Fairplay’s Survivor Return Was Ruined By The Show’s Producers And Danny Bonaduce
Jonny Fairplay's Survivor return excited fans but it was ruined by the show's producers and Danny Bonaduce.
As every fan will already know, Jonny has been one of Survivor's biggest villains from the moment he faked his grandmother's death. As a result, it may seem like it would be a no-brainer to have Jonny be a member of the Traitors.
Survivor's Most Hated Villains, According to Screen Rant | |
---|---|
Survivor Villain | Rank |
Randy Bailey | #10 |
Jerri Manthey | #9 |
Benjamin "Coach" Wade | #8 |
Richard Hatch | #7 |
Brian Heidik | #6 |
Jonny Fairplay | #5 |
Russell Hantz | #4 |
Colton Cumbie | #3 |
Dan Spilo | #2 |
Jeff Varner | #1 |
However, if Jonny gets to compete on The Traitors, he should definitely be cast as one of the Faithful.
During Survivor: Micronesia, fans briefly got to see Jonny be nicer and gentler. During episodes of Jonny's podcast, the "Reality After Show," it is obvious that Jonny isn't the cartoonish villain he gets portrayed as. It would be interesting to see Jonny try to show that side of his personality during The Traitors. After all, the other players would almost certainly suspect him immediately. As a result, it would likely throw off The Traitors fans and the other players to see Jonny being a part of the team.
In one scenario, Jonny could show millions of reality show fans that they have misunderstood him for years.
These days, Jonny Fairplay appears to be in a great place in his personal and professional life. In November 2020, Jonny told Entertainment Weekly about being a father of two daughters who hosts a Survivor podcast, sells t-shirts, and works as a realtor.
On the other hand, if Jonny's fellow players refused to trust him, and he was banished, that would almost certainly be a magnificent moment. It would be simply amazing to see Jonny fully embrace his villainous reputation again as he calls the players who just banished him out.
Either scenario would be incredible to watch for fans of The Traitors and Survivor.

In this long-running reality competition show, sixteen people are split into two tribes and must survive off the land in various rural locales. Each week, they compete in challenges for resources, luxuries, or immunity — and each week, one person is voted out by their teammates, losing their chance at being the sole Survivor.
