Survivor first hit our screens back in 2000, revolutionizing reality TV with its brutal mix of survival skills and social strategy. The premise is deceptively simple: a group of contestants is stranded in a remote location and must outwit, outplay, and outlast each other for a shot at a million-dollar prize.

Over the years, the show has become a cultural phenomenon, delivering countless twists, turns, and unforgettable moments.

Which players from Survivor: China should be brought back for Survivor 50?

When most fans think about Survivor: China, it is Todd Herzog, James Clement, and Amanda Kimmel who come to mind. While those three certainly were popular, it is actually one of the season’s villains who would be the most fun to see return for Survivor 50. Easily one of the most sarcastic Survivor players ever, Courtney mocked Survivor in a way that made her a lot of fun to watch. With that in mind, it would be amazing to see what Courtney would have to say about the new touchy-feely version of Jeff Probst.

As Probst gears up for the landmark Season 50, he's not pulling any punches. In a fresh interview with Variety, the host dished on the fierce selection process that’s already making headlines.

"We’re trying to figure out who’s gonna play in Survivor 50. We know it’s gonna be returning players," the host teased. He revealed that the initial list of hopefuls began with a whopping 200 former contestants—every name from the fan favorites to the controversial characters.

"We started out with a list of around 200, like, every person we would like to see, regardless of whether they want to do it or not,” Jeff went on.

But narrowing down this star-studded roster hasn’t been a walk in the park. Probst admitted that the list has been trimmed to about 125 and is now hovering around 100. "I printed out their faces on 4×6 magnetic sheets with their names, the season they first played, and how old they will be if they play in 50," he said.

And then he dropped the real tea: “I’m going to put them on the whiteboard and take in the very first steps toward what I think will go down as the most enjoyable problem we’ve ever had to solve. How are you going to get this down to a handful of people to play Survivor 50 that will satisfy the fans and will honor 50 seasons?”

As fans eagerly await the roster reveal, the buzz has spilled over onto social media. With reactions ranging from excitement to skepticism, one fan tweeted, "That’s a tough decision! How will they narrow it down to just a few?" while another joked, "Make it all 200, knock out 10 a week."

And amidst the speculation, a third fan lamented, "And we’ll end up getting 3 old schoolers max."

In other Survivor news, a slew of past contestants are setting sail for a high-seas reunion cruise. The Post Game Cruise: Survivor Edition is making waves as the ultimate fan experience. Starting July 17, 2025, Survivor aficionados can join their favorite former players on a luxurious voyage from Galveston, Texas, to Mexico.
