Recent tension between Kandi Burruss and Tamar Braxton has fans caught between a "he said, she said" drama-filled feud between the songstresses. During their time on Celebrity Big Brother, viewers thought that they would see a cordial alliance between Kandi Burruss and Tamar Braxton. Why? Well because they both have a similar background with Burruss being a member of R&B super girl-group Xscape and Braxton's past being a member of The Braxtons alongside her sister Toni Braxton in the 90s. But, when the two appeared on the reality show together, it was clear that some bad blood had existed between them— at least on Braxton's behalf.
Braxton had said that, when she toured with Xscape a year prior, she was struggling with her marriage and her career. She went on to assert that Kandi, during that time, had spouted negative opinions about Tamar that she knew nothing about, a claim to which Kandi did not recall. In December 2022, Tamar Braxton took to social media to make a shocking declaration that she was threatened by a RHOA couple.
“I was threatened by a [peach emoji] and they man…. It’s BEEF and it’s a REAL BEEF cause yo HUSBAND stepped to me! Periodt!”, she said at the time.
This month, while on Watch What Happens Live, host Andy Cohen addressed her allegations about the threats. Braxton stood her ground saying: “It really did happen, I’m not lying. Like, I’m not looking for attention or drama or anything like that, but that s**t really happened, it was not cute,”.

Soon after Tamar Braxton appeared on WWHL, Kandi Burruss decided to clap back at the "All the Way Home" singer via Instagram. The Real Housewives of Atlanta star posted a clip from the 1993 Addams Family Values film.
In the clip, Wednesday Addams refers another character as a victim. Burruss captioned the clip with an eye-roll emoji. The comment section was filled with users expressing support for Burruss amidst the allegations. One user applauded Burruss and took a shot at Braxton writing, "All she do is cause drama and then play victim… all her life.. but wanna play on the “I’m changed” narrative she should be exhausted..#TeamKandi".
Braxton, upon seeing the post, took to her Instagram stories to respond to Burruss' shade writing, “I am the victim when your man steps to a woman!!” Braxton added on her Instagram Story. “Sounds like an abused woman to me to see nothing wrong with that!! It was only a matter of time before both Kandi Burruss' and Tamar Braxton's partners stepped to the forefront of the drama. Tamar Braxton's new fiancé Jeremy “JR” Robinson— whom she met on her show Queen's Court— claimed his status as the "All the Way Home" singer's knight in shining armor when he allegedly checked Burruss' husband Todd Tucker about the situation.
While hosting an Amazon Live session, Kandi said, “The only thing I’ll say right now is simply that, that’s not true. My husband never said nothing to her. He did not threaten her or none of that. It appears that Tamar Braxton was not done with taking shots at Kandi Burruss, especially as The Real Housewives of Atlanta reality has been making headlines over tour drama with R&B group SWV.
On an episode of Bravo’s SWV & Xscape: Queens Of R&B, The two groups debated on who should open for whom when the two R&B groups perform together. Kandi Burruss and Xscape co-member Tameka “Tiny” Harris defended their stance that their group should be the group to headline, asserting that it would benefit the ticket sales most.
Member of SWV were not keen on embracing Burruss' rationale and thus, it began feud over which fans also weighed in to decide which group was more successful. Amidst the controversy, Tamar Braxton had a few words to share about Kandi. In the comment section of The Shade Room post on the Xscape and SWV drama, Braxton wrote: "“Imagine having the biggest ego for the most non singing a** person in the music industry,”.
