First, there was Kim and North, a TikTok channel dedicated to documenting the online shenanigans of Kim Kardashian and her oldest daughter with Kanye West, North West. Fans got to watch as Kim and North participated in TikTok trends and made silly videos, showcasing their sweet relationship.
But there's a new mother/child TikTok duo in town, and their names are Kailyn Lowry from Teen Mom 2 and her oldest son, Isaac Rivera.
Kailyn Lowry's Teen Mom Journey
Teen Mom viewers will no doubt remember when Kailyn first appeared on their screens way back in 2010 on MTV's 16 And Pregnant, the precursor to the Teen Mom franchise. Kailyn was just 17 when she found out she was pregnant by her boyfriend, Jo Rivera. Kailyn and Jo's journey was anything but easy, with dramatic break-ups and make-ups making for entertaining television. Kailyn's story was so compelling that she was cast on the 16 And Pregnant spin-off, Teen Mom 2, and remained on that show for nearly a decade alongside fellow castmembers like Jenelle Evans, Chelsea Houska-DeBoer, and Leah Messer.
Since leaving the TV show, Kailyn has made a name for herself as a podcaster and author, and frequent TikToker. In fact, Kailyn shares so much of her life on TikTok that fans can rest easy knowing they can still get glimpses of Kailyn's life with her broad of seven kids. Kailyn is also a mom to Lincoln (with ex-husband Javi Marroquin), Lux and Creed (with Chris Lopez), and Rio and twins Verse and Valley (with fiancé Elijah Scott), whom she recently announced her engagement to.
Kailyn Lowry's Son Isaac Starts High School
Ready to feel old? Cut to 2024 and Kailyn's oldest son, Isaac, is starting high school. He's also a major presence on his mom's TikTok page, often appearing on-screen with her while they shop at Target, go to concerts, get their hair done, rate each other's looks, and participate in other social media trends.
Kailyn recently posted a video where she and Isaac sat down to rate each other's back-to-school looks. The two clearly have a strong bond, as witnessed by the way they hype each other (and their outfits) up in the video.
Fans love seeing their sweet relationship, commenting things like:
"Isaac got the mom kail wanted 🥹🥹🥹 love yalls relationship 💙💗"
"Isaac is such a lovely lad you should be so proud 💙"
"He is so sweet . Love this mom /son duo"
"🥰 I love the relationship you and Issac have! Love all the outfits ❤️"
Isaac Is Active On TikTok
Like a lot of teens, Isaac is making a name for himself on the popular social media app. He currently boasts nearly 100k followers. A favorite is when he does reaction videos, where he watches old clips of his parents and responds on camera in real-time. He recently posted a video where he reacted to his dad Jo's iconic rap video from back in the day.
Isaac also played up his family's reality TV legacy by reenacting (in sign language, no less) a now-viral moment from the show that depicts his teenage mom and dad after a fight.
It's clear that Isaac has come to appreciate his family's reality TV fame, and can even poke fun at it online.
Famous Kids Roast Their Parents On TikTok
Another popular TikTok trend is the children of celebrities rating their parents' looks—and sparing no feelings with their brutally honest assessments. Fellow MTV star, Jenni "JWoww" Farley of Jersey Shore fame, and her daughter, Meilani, have posted videos where Meilani offers her unfiltered thoughts on some of her mom's previous red carpet looks.
Isaac jumped on this trend when he posted a video to TikTok back in June.
"In my opinion, the hair was not eating," he tells his followers as a photo of a young Kailyn at a red carpet appearance flashed on the screen. "It just doesn't look good."
Isaac Hopes For A Career In Entertainment
While Isaac has openly talked about his desire to be an ASL interpreter some day, his mom recently revealed on her podcast that she and Isaac's dad got him professional representation to help him launch a show biz career.
"Jo and Kailyn have big plans to turn this dream into a reality. They’re pulling out all the stops to make sure Isaac’s Hollywood debut is a success."
Isaac certainly has the charisma and on-screen presence to make it in Hollywood. Viewers who have watched him since his birth on 16 And Pregnant will no doubt be eager to follow his life's journey—whether online or on the big screen.
