Botched's Dr. Terry Dubrow is one of the rare medical professionals to boast deep expertise in both medicine and reality TV, and the good doctor couldn't help but offer his insight on a medical quandary to former Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star Brandi Glanville.

There is a lot of lore to unpack here, so stay with us.

Dr. Terry, along with Dr. Paul Nassif, is known in the genre for Botched, which focuses on the plastic surgeons' efforts to tackle tough cases — as the brief title of the show suggests, the surgeons endeavor to assist patients whose previous procedures yielded less-than-ideal results.

Cosmetic procedures are a delicate and constantly evolving form of medicine, and unfortunately, patient satifaction is subjective. While there are statistics about complications, we were unable to determine what percentage of plastic surgeries are "botched."

Moreover, Dr. Terry's reality TV presence is not limited to Botched — in addition to his work on the exceptionally controversial 2004 "extreme makeover" series The Swan, he also appeared alongside his wife, Heather, who was on the cast of Real Housewives Of Orange County.

In short, Dr. Terry is perhaps the best person to tackle an issue on which we recently reported: Brandi Glanville's "face parasites."

In actuality, Brandi's "face parasite" issue is a bit more complex, but the former Bravolebrity recently took to Twitter/X to share a shocking selfie depicting a difficult to describe problem she's been having with her face.

It's hard to even articulate what Brandi was talking about, and the photograph she shared, above, defied description.

A day after she tweeted the image, she returned to Twitter/X to explain that in spite of many visits to doctors and much money spent, she truly has no idea what caused it.

However, in addition to "face parasites," Brandi blamed the stress caused by Bravo as a suspect in the medical mystery:

"What happened? I wish I knew I've been in &out of the hospital this [past] year 1/2 spent almost every dollar I have trying to figure it out. Some Dr.'s say I have a parasite that jumps around my face. Some say it's stress induced edema.

"I personally say it's Bravo[.]"

In another tweet, Brandi shared an old Real Housewives clip, and lamented: "My health is ruined. My looks are ruined AND I was rehired because of this behavior for [the] Morocco girls trip 👎"

A difficult-to-diagnose medical issue – particularly one which affects a person's face – can be all-consuming, but luckily for Brandi, Dr. Terry has an inkling about what might be wrong.

Dr. Terry Doesn't Think Brandi Has 'Face Parasites'

Brandi herself originally said that "some" doctors speculated "parasites ... jumping" around her face caused the issue, but she also mentioned other potential causes.

TMZ got Dr. Terry on the horn to talk about Brandi's cosmetic and medical issues, and the outlet said he thinks she "needs to see a doctor ASAP for a proper diagnosis ... [and] figure out if there’s a microorganism lurking around," adding that the issue could be quite urgent.

Unlike some unkind social media users, he didn't blame Brandi's symptoms on previous cosmetic treatments like Botox.

But diagnosis was first and foremost, as he explained:

"I saw one of her interviews, and I've seen the picture [she tweeted], the one where she is swollen, the one where she is really deflated with the irregular skin.

"Here's the thing, here’s what Brandi really needs to focus on ... and it’s not her fault, it’s her doctor’s fault. Brandi needs a diagnosis."

With respect to speculation that a "face parasite" was at issue, Dr. Terry asserted that the cause was "not going to be a parasite, it’s not going to be something [Brandi] ate, it’s going to be from something that got into her bloodstream."

Although "parasite" perhaps sounds scarier than "microorganism," Dr. Terry emphasized his concerns that Brandi's issue had gone untreated for too long, and added:

"[Brandi is] like a ticking time bomb. Every minute that that microorganism is allowed to stay in her skin and do potential damage, she could suffer worse for it.

"It could be more difficult to treat, and she could form more scars and more nodules. So Brandi needs a diagnosis. She probably needs a surgical intervention to get a piece of tissue and figure out what’s going on."

As noted above, Brandi says she's long sought a diagnosis, and while she's spent a lot of money in pursuit of one, she's been unsuccessful thus far.

Luckily, Dr. Terry invited Brandi to come to him and Dr. Paul, saying that "the Botched doctors are here for [her]."
