The Bachelor Season 29 Grant Ellis is ready to find true love. Grant, a former professional basketball player turned day trader, from Newark, New Jersey, was a contestant on Jenn Tran's Season 21 of The Bachelorette and came close to winning her heart. However, Jenn eliminated him right before hometown dates.

Right after his departure, Grant shared on social media that he would be the newest Bachelor. Fans are hopeful that Grant will get his happily ever after in his season after Jenn was left heartbroken.

Grant will be making history as the second-ever Black lead, following Matt James. Before he was eliminated from Jenn's season, he spoke about wanting a wife and a family. Before Grant's season of The Bachelor premieres on January 27th, the handsome day trader teased fans about what he's looking for in his future wife. Grant joined Ryan Seacrest in New York City to watch the ball drop on New Year's Eve. During his interview, Grant gave hints about his upcoming season, which included these specific traits:

"I’m looking for someone who is kind," Grant shared. "A beautiful woman doesn’t hurt."

Grant, who has been adamant that he's ready to take the next steps in his life, continued, "Yeah, someone who is kind and who is ready for marriage, a long-lasting committed relationship."

Ryan then asked Grant if he could tell fans anything about his season. Of course, Grant couldn't give anything away, but did hint that he may end up finding love.

"I can’t tell you much. I can tell you to tune in on January 27th and maybe you’ll see a beautiful love story."

Fans are truly hoping Grant finds the one after Jenn's devastating outcome when she chose contestant Devin Strader during her season as The Bachelorette. Just two months after she proposed to him, he ended their engagement over the phone. Devin was instantly labeled the Bachelor's villain. Grant was eliminated in Week 6 during her season right before hometown dates.

After Grant was eliminated from Jenn's season, he spoke about what he was hoping his future would look like even though things did not work out between him and the Bachelorette.

"I want a family, you know?" Grant tells the camera. "I want to be happy. I want a wife. I want to be in love. I want that, you know? I want to give everything to somebody, and I want them to give everything to me in return. I don't know what else to say. I did not think that was going to happen tonight."

"Love is a choice. Love is hard. But ultimately, the hardest things have the biggest reward.”

When the first promo dropped for Grant's season of The Bachelor, he revealed that he was ready to settle down. “I’m looking for love. I want a wife. I’m searching for the happiness," he states.

Grant is clearly determined to find the one. During a quick round of 20 questions with Bachelor Nation, Grant was asked where he saw himself in five years, "Ideally married with kids. That’s the goal!" Hopefully, he finds what he's looking for during his season.

The 25 Contestants Include A Pediatrician, A Wedding Planner, And A Nightclub Server

Fans only got to know a few tidbits about Grant during his time as a contestant on Jenn Tran's season. However, he is ready to open up his heart to the 25 contestants that have been chosen for him. The women who will be vying for Ellis' heart are from all over the U.S., including one contestant from Canada, named Alexe, a pediatric speech therapist. Grant will also get to meet someone from his home state—Alli Jo, who works as a boxing trainer.

Playing a game of 20 questions with Bachelor Nation, Grant thinks a celebrity couple that is #relationshipgoals is Beyonce and Jay Z.

The contestants all seem promising, including Chicago native Dina, an attorney, whose bio states that she is "set on finding her husband." There is also Los Angeles native, Ella, a luxury travel host who is a "hopeless romantic," something that Grant is looking for.

Additional contestants include Massachusetts native, Julianna, a client service associate who "hopes to meet a man who has a good heart, strong ambition and loves to hang out with family." There's also Utah-living venture capitalist Litia, who loves sports, just like Grant. She is an athlete, as her bio notes that she "is an incredibly fast swimmer" and enjoys playing water polo.

Grant's hidden talent is beatboxing.

There is also South Carolina pediatrician, Neicey, who is a dog mom of three. New York City associate media director, Sarafiena, who is described as "100% wife material," and another NYC native, Zoe, a tech engineer/model, who loves adventure and is happy when she is around "puppies and babies."

Season 29 of The Bachelor is set to premiere Monday, Jan. 27 on ABC.
