Khloe Kardashian’s body has been the subject of criticism and media speculation for years. But the reality star says it took becoming a mother to see the value in hiring models of all different body sizes and shapes.
The reality star launched her brand Good American in 2016. Since then, it’s become known for its inclusive designs and wide size range. The brand also has a reputation for employing models with a variety of bodies to showcase its clothing.
Khloe recently spoke to Elle to promote Good American’s new collection Pop Off Pink. During the interview, she explained her daughter True inspires her to be as size-inclusive as possible.
Khloe Wants Her Daughter To Feel Represented In Fashion
The Kardashians star has two children – 4-year old daughter True and a newborn son – that she shares with her ex-boyfriend Tristan Thompson.
Speaking to Elle, Khloe explained that her daughter is the reason size-inclusivity is so important to her. "There's not a cookie cutter-shaped woman out there, so there shouldn't be cookie cutter-shaped models, in my opinion," the mother-of-two said. "I think everyone needs to feel represented."
Khloe continued, "Now that I'm a mom and have a daughter, I want her to see every version of herself, her friends, and her cousins—I want everyone to feel validated, I guess," she added.
Khloe’s Brand Is Growing, But Her Personal Life Is Unravelling
To say Khloe’s Good American brand has been successful would be an understatement. The brand sold $1 million in its first round of sales. Now, it’s reportedly valued at $130 million and is on track to make $200 million in revenue this year alone.
But while her business is booming, the reality star’s personal life has been the subject of much speculation in the last few months.
Fans were surprised earlier this year when Khloe announced she was expecting a second child with Tristan via surrogate, who gave birth in August. The baby was reportedly conceived before it became known that Tristan conceived a baby with another woman, Maralee Nichols, while in a relationship with Khloe last year.
Despite welcoming a second child, Khloe and Tristan are not together. When their surrogate was expecting, sources said the pair were barely on speaking terms.
Tristan has also been called out by Maralee, who claims the NBA star has yet to meet their son, Theo. The athlete initially denied he was the father, but a paternity test later disproved his claims. Though reports say he now pays child support, Tristan allegedly has no relationship with the infant.
