At the age of five, his career was already off and running in the film, 'Simpatico'. Heck, for some people, they don't even find a career two decades later... Let's just say Angus T. Jones was introduced to the business at a young age and it would lead to several other film roles including See Spot Run, The Rookie, Bringing Down the House, George of the Jungle 2, and The Christmas Blessing.
Of course, we all know by now, the biggest moment of his career would take place alongside Jon Cryer and Charlie Sheen on 'Two and a Half Men'. During his run on the show, he became an elite among the child stars, making a record-breaking $300,000 per episode. No wonder he left the industry without thinking twice, the 27-year-old has a comfortable $20 million in the bank.
As they say, all good things must come to an end. As the actor started getting into religion more and more, his views began to change. This would lead to his demise on the show and eventual exit.
We'll review that situation, along with the exact moment that he was removed from the show's intro.
In addition, we'll take a look at what he's doing these days, away from the spotlight.
He Spoke Negatively of The Show
For Jones, the problem wasn't 'Two and a Half Men', but television in general. Thanks to his new beliefs, the actor started looking at the entertainment business in a different way.
"Please stop filling your head with filth. People say it’s just entertainment. Do some research on the effects of television in your brain and I promise you, you’ll have a decision to make when it comes to… what you watch on television. It’s bad news."
Angus would go back on his harsh words, which included telling fans not to watch the show anymore. The child star thanked the cast for a wonderful run and he didn't intend to target the show.
"I apologize if my remarks reflect me showing indifference to and disrespect of my colleagues and a lack of appreciation of the extraordinary opportunity of which I have been blessed," he said in a statement obtained by The Hollywood Reporter. "I never intended that."
It was obvious at that point, he had moved on from the show and in season 11, it was time for a change.
Removing Angus From The Intro In Season 11
At one point, the show was untouchable and among the elite on cable TV. However, the longer it went, the more it started to sour, both behind the scenes and from a fan standpoint.
The show lasted 12 seasons and 262 episodes, however, towards the end, changes took place.
We all know about Charlie Sheen taking a bow, but Angus T, Jones would also follow.
The show took action at the start of season 11, as he was officially removed from the opening sequence of the show.
He had made up his mind that it was time to return to school and leave acting behind.
Wanting A Normal Life
Fame hit at a young age and it is only normal that the child star was opting for a normal life. Among his priorities was going back to school and getting a full education.
"Going to college was something I was really, really excited about," he explained. "… I wasn’t the center of everyone’s attention, and that was nice."
In addition, he got to finally spend time with his brother. "Getting to be a part of his life is one of my most favorite things."
"I got pretty doomsday with my thinking for a long time, but now I’m having fun and enjoying where I’m at. I no longer feel like every step I take is on a land mine."
As reported by Fox News, the man who played Jake for several years was spotted in the LA area, looking absolutely unrecognizable. He was rocking a huge beard and beanie. As if that wasn't enough, he was spotted barefoot keeping a low profile and walking towards his ride.
Surely, a return does not seem likely at this time, and he seems to be more than content with his circumstances, living life on the down-low. We all know by now, he definitely has the funds to lay low for the rest of his life, as long as he's smart with his earnings.
