Jill Zarin first made waves back in 2008 when she appeared on our screens as one of the very first stars on the Real Housewives of New York.

Zarin became the breakout star of the show, that is until fans turned on her following her feud with Bethenny Frankel. It appears as if Jill was not able to redeem herself come the series' fourth season, leaving execs no choice but to fire her from the show.

Although this is the tale fans were told happened when it came to Jill's departure from the series, it seems as if there is far more to the story than what was originally led on. So, what really led to Jill's firing from RHONY? Let's find out!

Why Jill Zarin Was Fired

Jill Zarin first sent shock waves throughout the Real Housewives world back in 2008 when she joined RHONY in its very first season.

While Ramona, Bethenny, Luann, and Alex were great cast members in their own right, it seemed as if fans always gravitated towards Zarin, that is until her blow up with co-star, Bethenny Frankel.

Come season 2 of the series, Bethenny and Jill had a falling out that left Zarin iced out by fans. Despite trying to redeem herself in seasons 3 and 4, viewers had already witnessed the real Jill, and there was no going up from there.

Although Zarin remains an integral member of Housewives history, the star has made it clear that she has no interest in returning to the series, however, fans believe she'd say yes if given the opportunity.

Jill expected season 4 of RHONY to be her comeback, however, considering fans still didn't love who Zarin had turned into, there was really no redemption to come, leaving Bravo with no choice but to let her go, or so we thought!

During an interview for OWN's Where Are They Now? Jill Zarin revealed that there was more to the story than what was first led on, and turns out, her firing was her own fault!

Jill revealed that following season 4 of the show, she had a little bit too much to drink one night, which led the star to write an email to her fellow co-stars.

In the email, Jill detailed her wishes to bow out while she's at the top of her game and made it clear that she will not be returning to the series for its fifth season. After reportedly clicking send, Jill claims she regretted her decision in the morning and wouldn't have gone through with it, but it was too late.

The email had allegedly been sent to execs at Bravo, who phoned Jill the next day to officially give her the chop!

Although she may have left the network on a less than stellar note, it's clear that Andy Cohen and Bravo hold no ill will towards Jill, as she'd made many appearances on Watch What Happens Live and even RHONY a handful of times since her departure.
