When an actor stars on a popular teen drama for a decade, it makes sense that fans love watching them play that character. It's hard to want them to play someone else, although of course, we all understand that they have to continue to act and make a living. In Brian Austin Green's case, fans loved watching him play the sweet and stylish teenager David Silver on the hit show Beverly Hills 90210. While David wasn't totally flawless, those of us who love the show always smiled when he was on-screen, whether he was confessing his love for Donna Martin or pursuing his love of music.
Brian Austin Green has one of the highest net worth of the 90210 cast, and he's also been in the news a lot because of his divorce from Megan Fox. He also recently made headlines for starring in season 30 of Dancing With The Stars. Why did the actor choose to join this reality competition series? Some fans think it has to do with his ex being in such a highly publicized relationship with Machine Gun Kelly. Something like that would make anyone want to get as much attention as possible in order to compete. But it turns out, Megan and MGK have absolutely nothing to do with the real reason Brian wanted to join the hit reality show...
Joining Season 30
Fans love Brian Austin Green's romantic and kind words about Sharna Burgess, which is why it was so cool to learn that they would be dancing together on Dancing With The Stars.
Brian Austin Green shared that people were interested in him joining DWTS and that it seemed like a good idea. He told E! News that when he and Sharna Burgess, his girlfriend, started seeing each other, they would discuss it on a regular basis.
The actor told the publication, "We actually talked early on when we were dating about this not happening. We were like, this is never happening. We used to laugh and joke about this never happening. When it came around this season, and we sort of talked about it, it just seemed like, 'Why not?' It is a chance to do something that entertains a lot of people that watch it. It's something that a lot of people have been wanting me to do for years."
After playing David Silver for 10 seasons, Brian Austin Green has held a number of roles. He played Chris on the TV series Freddie, Derek Reese on the TV series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and Keith Watson on Desperate Housewives. He also returned to play himself (and also play David) on the reboot BH90210.
What's interesting about Sharna Burgess and Brian Austin Green's relationship is she said that if he was her DWTS partner, she wouldn't want to date him because she likes her work and personal life to be compartmentalized. According to Heavy, the couple told Access Hollywood that their business manager thought they would like each other, and when he learned that she hadn't watched Beverly Hills 90210, he thought that was cool and interesting.
The pair also danced to "Someday My Prince Will Come" from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs on the reality competition show. According to People, Sharna said that she would be less careful about letting her partner know when she wanted him to do something: "The first few weeks I think I was much more careful of your feelings, but as your coach, I know I just need to say, 'Suck it up and do it again.'"
While fans were excited and thrilled to watch this couple on Dancing With The Stars, they said that they seemed "salty" and upset about being eliminated. According to Entertainment Tonight, Sharna explained that this wasn't true at all and there was some problems with Zoom, which is why they weren't able to continue with the press.
Sharna said, “I just wanted to clean something up real quick because I think this is said in a couple of press releases, we didn’t leave before press started, we did wait a good 30 minutes on the Zoom link greenroom waiting for everyone to do press. But nothing came through to us, apparently, there was a big mix-up with the Zoom links last night. And then we had to go to the people that were getting us out of our wigs and [makeup]… There were people waiting for us to do that.”
Based on what Brian Austin Green has said, it sounds like he figured that it would be a lot of fun to try his hand at dancing, and fans are glad that he took the chance as it was definitely exciting watching him compete.
People reported that Brian Austin Green and Sharna Burgess were the first couple to ever join the show and dance together. Sharna said on the show, "I am unbelievably excited to share with him something I love so deeply," which is really sweet to hear.
Fans enjoyed seeing a new side of Brian Austin Green on season 30 of Dancing With The Stars, especially if they have been following him since his days as David Silver.
