After a successful second season, Peacock's The Traitors is set to film in the summer of 2024. The series is based on the same competition show broadcast in Holland and now has multiple international broadcasts. The Traitors focuses on 20+ contestants who all stay under the same roof in a Medieval Scottish castle. While most of the group are known as "faithfuls," there's a "traitor" among them. Based on conversations and a series of competitions, the group has to collectively find out who the traitor is before the traitor strikes in the shadows, eliminating a faithful from the castle. In the end, the winner (whoever successfully guesses and eliminates the traitors) goes home with the honor and a cash prize.

News for Season 3 of The Traitors has slowly trickled in. With filming starting and rumors flowing, fans want to know everything they can about Peacock's hit show. Here's Everything To Know Right Now About Season 3 Of 'The Traitors'

Production for The Traitors has been relatively silent until the host, The Good Wife actor Alan Cumming, took to Instagram in June 2024 to tease the beginning of the new season. Standing in front of the legendary castle in the Scottish Highlands, Cumming teased his viewers that he "may or may not have just chosen" the cast of Season 3 of The Traitors. Fans begged to know who made the cast, but the news wasn't made public until a few days later.

Alan Cumming Is Back

Cumming's video proved that he's back as the host doing the most for Season 3. Cumming is a legendary actor who playfully joined the series as its host. In an interview with Puck, Cumming humbly shared how he joined the series. “I took the meeting and I realized they wanted me to subvert the form of hosting a show like this by playing a character.” Cumming has become the star of the show with his iconic outfits and the way he says “murder.” He’s as important to the series as the cast is.

The Same Location Is Used

Season 3 of The Traitors will continue to be filmed at Ardross Castle in Scotland. According to House Beautiful, the castle was chosen because of its size. Internally and externally, it was the best castle with space for a round table, production, and the cast. Cumming told Variety that they only film in one wing of the castle — along with the gardens.

An Official Premiere Date Has Not Been Released (Yet)

As of the publication of this article, there is no release date yet. However, based on previous seasons, it’s rumored the series is hoping for a January 2025 release, according to The Sun

Sandoval became known globally after having a months-long affair with a close friend, tarnishing his nine-year relationship with fellow cast member Ariana Madix. Lord Ivar Mountbatten, on the other hand, couldn't be further from the reality TV world and is the cousin of King Charles. Having someone a part of a reality show that's directly related to the king is big news in royal media. According to People, Lord Mountbatten became one of the first royals to come out as gay and have a same-sex wedding.

Season 2 Of 'The Traitors' Was Ground-Breaking After A Sleepy First Season

Season 1 of The Traitors got off to a successful start but was relatively sleepy compared to Season 2 — a true sign that the series is progressing. Season 1 had contestants like Kate Chastain (Below Deck), Ryan Lochte (Olympic swimmer), and Cody Calafiore (Big Brother). Alongside the famous competitors were normal contestants who weren't in the limelight. For Season 2, however, Peacock switched things up and made the entire cast reputable faces across different channels and niches.
