The producers of Love Is Blind followed the second season with a completely different show, 'The Ultimatum: Marry Or Move On.' In this show, couples were faced with one of the biggest decisions ever. The show focused on six couples willing to put their relationship to the test. One in every pair felt like they were ready to tie the knot, whilst the other may have cold feet or might simply be over with the relationship. However, the only way that this could have been settled was by issuing an ultimatum on international TV.Related: Why Are 'The Ultimatum' Cast Members So Young?Of course, the person who issued the ultimatum would have hoped for their partner to return to them after spending time in their trial marriage with someone else, but the show gets quite interesting when the partners become confused.

Couples Experience A Trial Marriage With Different Partners

The experiment lasted a total of eight weeks and included six couples. The courageous pairs were Shanique and Randall, Lauren and Nate, Madlyn and Colby, Rae and Zay, April and Jake, and Alexis and Hunter.

In the first week, couples were asked to break up with their original partner and start dating other people from amongst the other five couples. Naturally, emotions started to run high when partners began getting jealous. However, they had to "suck it up" to move on because this was what they wanted or their partner wanted.

As if the dating was not enough, each person then had to find someone else whom they were attracted to, compatible with, and somewhat emotionally connected with to spend time within their newly formed relationship.

Surely, there were no off-limits to what could have been done or not in the relationship, which certainly irritated partners in the original relationship. The experience gave each couple a fair chance at dating and exploring potential partners again as if the creators wanted the couples to be attracted to others on the show.

The Trial Marriage Sips Its Way Into The Original Relationship

After the couples had spent their time in the trial marriages, they were given the chance to explore a trial marriage in their original relationship. That process seemed to have opened up a can of worms for almost all the couples or emphasized issues that already existed.

Prior to the show, April and Jake had been in a relationship for two years. April felt that at the prime of her life she was ready to have a family with Jake who felt like doing so was just too soon.

As a result of not being on the same page, April gave Jake an ultimatum. Jake felt that he wanted to take things slowly since he had just gotten out of the military and wanted to delve into the world before bringing in kids of their own.

Unfortunately, April's ultimatum worked out against her since Jake ended up connecting deeply with Rae. This fortunate occurrence for Jake and unfortunate occurrence for April really had the couples thinking whether their previous partners were actually their real match.

Fans Applaud Certain Couples For Coming To Their Senses

Many fans think that the ages of the couples were a bit young for most of them to be considering marriage, especially since some of them were not very established in themselves. Viewers noticed how openly ready some individuals were to be with someone else, regardless of if they gave the ultimatum or not.

There was no doubt that the trial marriages did test the strength of all the couples' relationships and each one had its fair share of emotional turmoil. In every few clips on the show, Randall kept emphasizing how much he did not want to be given an ultimatum or go on with the show. However, his partner, Shanique felt that they had been together for too long not to be engaged to be married.

Well, by the looks of it, fans think that Shanique did the right thing by offering Randall an ultimatum because the duo seems to be going strong as evidenced in their usual Instagram posts. Rae and Zay who came in as an iconic duo, unfortunately, went their separate ways, whilst Colby and Madyln are raising their firstborn daughter and got married on Netflix's season finale.

Lauren and Nate seemed to have had a proposal that came off very dissembling to the rest of the cast and by extension, viewers. Nonetheless, they left the show engaged. Alexis and Hunter both noticed from early on in the show that they would not be able to stomach the feeling of seeing each other with anyone else. Now, Alexis and Hunter are happily married.
