Charlie Sheen Regrets His Decision To Leave 'Two And A Half Men'

Looking back, Charlie Sheen did reveal that he would have handled things very differently. According to Sheen, he basically traded his role on the show for a hashtag.

Ultimately, the actor revealed that he was wrong for handling things the way he did.

"There was 55 different ways for me to handle that situation, and I chose number 56. And so, you know, I think the growth for me post-meltdown or melt forward or melt somewhere — however you want to label it — it has to start with absolute ownership of my role in all of it," Sheen explains. "And it was desperately juvenile."

Chuck Lorre would also show remorse for the way things turned out, so much so that he actually offered Sheen the chance to return for the finale.

Lorre revealed that he was proud of what the show accomplished with Charlie, “I’m very proud of what we did here with Charlie, I’m very proud of those shows,” Lorre said. “I watch some of those shows and I’m so proud — because you forget, it was a long time ago … [and] to end the show appropriately you literally have to end two incarnations of Two and a Half Men and bring together a lot of threads. I didn’t want to end it without acknowledging the past. "

Sheen didn't shy away from watching his funeral episode and along with the fans, he had some thoughts about it.

What Did Charlie Sheen Think Of His Funeral?

Sheen was present for his funeral episode, and he actually held a party for it. Sheen made light of the situation, "That’s got to be the highest attended funeral of all time.”

“And it’s interesting because I’m doing [a] film with Roman Coppola and there is a funeral scene in that. So I’m a guy that’s gonna have to survive my own funeral twice in the same year!”

Sheen would further state that Kutcher was great in his role during the episode. "It was a big night for everybody on Monday night — for Two and a Half, for us, for me. “I think everybody won. I thought the show was really good. I thought [Ashton] was terrific.”

Of course, we all know by now, the show was never the same following his exit. In addition, fans noticed something in particular during his funeral episode.

Fans Think The Show Purposely Showed Charlie's Close Instead Of His Picture

Most of us watched it, Charlie's 'Two and a Half Men' funeral basically turned into a roast. Fans had a lot to say about the scene, though one fan in particular acknowledged the fact that there was no picture of Charlie - this was likely done to avoid a lawsuit. Instead, his clothes were present as a symbol of him.

"To avoid lawsuits from Charlie Sheen, they used his clothes instead of his picture LOL."

The comment was one of the most liked - though in addition, lots of fans stated that this scene was not only Charlie's funeral, but the show's as well.

"Not just R.I.P. Charlie, but R.I.P. Two And A Half Men."

"Charlie was the heart and soul of the show."

"They need to have a show about Charlie and Alan’s childhood. And forget seasons 9-12 ever happened."

"You know what I liked about Charlie in this show? He found himself at the end of his life. He realized true love really is the ultimate fantasy when he proposed. He realized he needed to settle down, grow up and realized you can't stay at the party forever. I miss this show."

A reboot doesn't seem likely but at the very least, we can always look back on the episodes.
