Scarlett Johansson is a pretty recognizable figure. Ask anyone in the world if shown a photo of the A-lister if they can name her, guaranteed the answer would be a resounding, 'Yes.' Though, if there was one demographic that might be unfamiliar, that might be the toddler bracket, which her daughter Rose Dorothy falls under.Johansson has starred in a slew of hits from Black Widow to Marriage Story, The Perfect Score, and more, but if there is one film that the A-lister has starred in that's not talked about enough, it's a holiday classic that everyone should know. During quarantine, while diving into 'nostalgic '90s movies,' Johansson revealed she screened this holiday classic with her daughter, but her response was a little unexpected. This blast from the past had Rose Dorothy doe-eyed and doing a double-take.

Scarlett Johansson Is Recognizable In Many Modern Films

Scarlett Johansson has graced the screens for as long as any cinephile can remember. But strangely, it is easy to forget that her career start was actually as a child actress.

Johansson's dreams of becoming an actor started very young, and at seven years old, she started going on auditions. She was able to book gigs about a year later, but the projects then were not as high profile as the films she headlines now, though even at her young age, she did make an impression with critics.

At 17, Ghost World became her breakout role, soon followed by Lost In Translation and Girl with a Pearl Earring. The latter two films put Johansson on the Hollywood map, and she received nominations for her performances.

Surprisingly though, especially coming from someone who found so much success, despite the wins, Johansson shared she still faced rejection, even when her career was soaring. The roles that she is known for today, like the Black Widow, were because she was a second choice.

Fortunately, her positive take on facing initial rejections as opportunities kept her career trajectory going strong and changed the course of her career. Black Widow cemented Johansson's status as a blockbuster bombshell, plus she kept proving her dramatic acting chops with Marriage Story and Jojo Rabbit, which led to a round of Academy Award nominations.

Scarlett Johansson Has Two Children (After Two Marriages)

Aside from her illustrious career, Johansson also has a few public romances that kept her in the spotlight.

Her first marriage to actor Ryan Reynolds, who was then 31, and she was 23, ended in divorce.

While the relationship on the outside seemed like a perfect match, she spoke about how, perhaps, marrying at such a young age, she didn't really have an understanding of marriage. "Maybe I kind of romanticized it," she said.

Pop culture fans know what happened next. Reynolds met actress Blake Lively on the set of Green Lantern, and eventually, the two got married and are still happily together.

Johansson moved on with French journalist Romain Dauriac and gave birth to their daughter Rose Dorothy in 2014. However, three years later, their marriage ended, and the two went their separate ways.

That same year, Johansson played a cameo on Saturday Night Live as Ivanka Trump, and rumor has it, gotten close with writer and performer Colin Jost, who she first met more than a decade ago when she first hosted the show.

The two eventually tied the knot in 2020 and welcomed their son Cosmo in 2021 (and even starred in a Super Bowl commercial together.)

Scarlett Johansson's Early Role Didn't Impress Her Daughter

On a snowy day during the pandemic, Johansson and her daughter revisited nostalgic films from the past, and the showing ended up including one of her earlier films.

When one thinks of the holidays, a handful of films come to mind, but the list should always include the Home Alone series.

For those unfamiliar with the franchise, the premise goes: stranded at home, all alone, during Christmas, a young, savvy kid tries to outwit burglars during a home invasion, which leads to comedic and disastrous results for the invaders.

While most sequels never measure up to the original, the second and third films of the series stood on their own. Home Alone 3 featured an 11-year-old Johansson, who played the wisecracking older sister of Alex, her younger brother who had to stay home alone due to chicken pox.

Since her daughter loved the first two Home Alone films, Johansson decided to show the third film without telling her daughter she was in it. Johansson said, "I just wanted her to make the discovery."

Funnily enough, despite her mother being one of the most recognizable figures in the world, her daughter failed to recognize her. "Of course, she didn't because how can an 11-year-old me remind her of me now?”

Johansson said laughing, as she retold the story. “And I said, 'Who's that person?!' She was like, 'You?'"
