Charlie Sheen seems to have made headlines over the years for all kinds of abhorrent behavior. From his time on 'Two and a Half Men' to his publicized relationships with his exes (and the mothers of his kids) Denise Richards and Brooke Mueller, he's always saying or doing something that critics (and even fans) don't like.
Of course, there was also Charlie's first-born child, whose mom was the actor's high school sweetheart. Charlie's daughter, Cassandra, is in her 30s these days, but she hasn't escaped the bad press surrounding her dad, either.
Rumor has it, the rest of Charlie's family has also struggled with his lapses in judgment and the resulting headlines. Even his celeb brother Emilio doesn't seem to be a huge fan these days.
Still, Charlie's got plenty of admirers to this day. One fan commented about Charlie's "true" personality: "He was just himself and earned millions through it." Being yourself is respectable enough, right?
But one fan and purported friend of Charlie Sheen claims to know what the actor is really like. Shane Zeranski elaborated on Quora about how he's connected to the troubled star. Shane wrote, "I know Charlie well," and noted that Sheen is kind, generous, brilliant, and "full of ideas."
For reference, Shane Zeranksi is an actor, producer, and writer, according to IMDb. His credits include work on 'Criminal Minds,' 'Star Trek,' and other projects, including as a photo double for Leonardo DiCaprio on 'Catch Me If You Can.' Clearly, he's been in the industry long enough to know what it's like.
So, it does add up that Shane would know Charlie personally. He's also got photographic proof, of course, and says that Charlie gave him written permission to share.
Despite his vices, Shane writes of his old friend, Charlie has a sharp wit and "is greatly misunderstood and has been greatly taken advantage of."
Further, the source says, "What you see is what you get. Take it or leave it, love it or hate it. I love it." A commenter affirmed Shane's thoughts, saying he's met Emilio Estevez and there was no "BS" about Charlie while the two worked together.
Many fans concur that what Shane says must be true. After Charlie paid tribute to the late Conchata Ferrell and maintains relationships with many former connections in Hollywood.
And some fans have had the luck to meet Charlie Sheen in public, too. One commenter on Shane's Quora post said that their partner worked as a bartender in Long Beach that Charlie frequents. In all their interactions at the bar, said the fan, Charlie has been kind, outgoing, and "down to earth."
