In 2021, Macaulay Culkin and his girlfriend Brenda Song welcomed their first son, Dakota — named after the Home Alone alum's late sister. She was killed in a car accident in 2008 at just 29 years old.
She "was struck by a car when she stepped off the curb and in front of a moving vehicle," said E! News at that time. Macaulay's half-sister, Jennifer Adamson also died at the same age, eight years prior, due to drug overdose.
Yes, Macaulay has other siblings other than Succession's Kieran Culkin — who learned about the toxicity of fame early on due to his older brother's traumatizing experience. There's their sister Quinn and brothers Shane, Christian, and Roy.
Shane is the eldest among the siblings while Roy is the youngest. While the former prefers to stay out of the limelight, Roy seems to be in it as well. He's a closer look at his own Hollywood career.
Is Rory Culkin Married?
Rory has been married to cinematographer, Sarah Scrivener since 2018. They met on the set of Scream 4 where she was working as a camera assistant. It took them long to get married, reportedly due to their busy careers. But when they finally tied the knot in New Orleans, they had a WrestleMania-themed ceremony officiated by WWE hypeman, Paul Heyman. It also took place on the eve of WrestleMania 34.
Unlike Macaulay and Kieran who are now fathers, Rory and Sarah don't have any children together. They do have a few fur babies though. The latter's recent Instagram post featured footage of their cats playing around the house. She captioned it, "The cats are alright."
They're probably the cool aunt and uncle to their nieces and nephews. Meanwhile, Kieran — who has two kids, daughter Kinsey Sioux, 3, and son Wilder Wolf, 1 — said he never looked at their father, Kit Culkin "as Dad" growing up. "He didn't really belong here, and when he was finally gone for good, it made the most sense," he said.
Macaulay said the same thing, describing Kit as "abusive. Physically and mentally." He even recalled "going around the country, locked in a room with a man who didn't like me" back when their father was managing his career as a child star.
What Does Rory Culkin Do?
Just like Macaulay and Kieran, Rory also started out as a child actor. He typically played younger versions of his brothers in movies like Richie Rich and Igby Goes Down. In 2000, he landed his own major role in You Can Count on Me starring Laura Linney and Mark Ruffalo. He also acted alongside Mel Gibson and Joaquin Phoenix in Signs.
In 2005, he played Johnny Parish in the crime flick, The Zodiac. Then he joined the Scream franchise in 2011, playing Charlie Walker in the fourth installment. Like Kieran, he's also forayed into TV, appearing in shows like Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Under the Banner of Heaven.
His most recent work is Swarm, a cult series on Prime Video where he had a full-frontal nude scene that immediately went viral. It was reportedly based on co-creator, Donald Glover's experiences after a one-night stand.
"Donald told this very funny story about a girl who he really liked, and how after they hooked [up], he was standing there with a bowl of cherries, just being like, 'Hey,'" co-creator Janine Nabers said of the scene.
Are The Culkin Brothers Close To Each Other?
Unlike many celebrity siblings, the Culkin brothers seem to be on good terms. Macaulay even had a proud brother moment on Twitter when Kieran was nominated for a Golden Globe Award in 2019 for his performance as Roman Roy in Succession. "Oh s—t! My brother is at the Golden Globes?! That is so cool," the My Girl star tweeted after seeing the red carpet coverage of the show's cast.
He even quipped: "HOLY S—T KIERAN IS NOMINATED??? WHAT IS SUCCESSION?! Man, I should really answer his calls more often. Thanksgiving is going to be really awkward this year." Reacting to the hilarious tweet, Kieran later said: "Oh man! I haven't seen that. I'm on no social media, so I did not see any of that."
He then spoke of his brother's constant support, telling Us Weekly: "Because family. That's easy, right? I mean, you got family." But as of March 2023, their children haven't really had a chance to meet each other yet. "Well, the cousins live in Los Angeles, we live in New York, Kieran told Access Hollywood back then.
"I have a 1-year-old and a 3-year-old and as busy as I am, there is no getting on a plane and going," he explained. It's all good, though. We're sure Macaulay gets how hectic Kieran's schedule must be.
That same month, the latter also discussed his brother's struggle with fame as a child actor. "Poor f—king guy," he said in an Esquire profile. "He was little and having to try to accept that level of fame as reality. Even at that time, as a kid, I remember thinking, 'That sucks for him.'"
