Whenever am upcoming release debuts its previews, fans take to the internet to sound off about it. Whether it's a Netflix release, a major video game adaptation, or something with a returning star, there is always something to say regarding a new release.
Harry Styles has been making waves as an actor, and later this year, he will be featured in Don't Worry Darling, a thriller with Florence Pugh. Fans have gotten an initial look at the film, and we've rounded up some of their reactions.
Harry Styles Is A Major Star
When it comes to the biggest names in the entertainment industry, Harry Styles is currently enjoying his place at the top with a select few. The man has been in the spotlight since he was a youngster, and he has continued to grow in popularity while also increasing the amount of respect people give him.
Styles became a star with One Direction, and once he ventured out on his own, he was able to find a unique voice in the music industry. Thanks to this, he is now one of the biggest music acts on the planet.
Impressively, he has also shown himself to be a capable actor. So far, the actor has appeared in 2017's Dunkirk and in the MCU film, Eternals.
Later this year, he's hitting the big screen once again.
He's Starring In 'Don't Worry Darling' With Florence Pugh
Soon enough, Harry Styles fans will get the chance to see him star in Don't Worry Darling with Florence Pugh and an unbelievably talented cast.
According to Deadline, the film is about "an unhappy housewife in the 1950s [who] discovers a disturbing truth, while her loving husband hides a dark secret."
Other notable members of the cast include Olivia Wilde, Gemma Chan, and Chris Pine. All of these performers will be bringing their A-game to the table, and this psychological thriller has a world of potential with the cast alone.
For the unfamiliar, this happens to be the project that Shia LaBeouf was once attached to, but after problems behind the scenes, he was booted in favor of Harry Styles.
Following Shia's departure, Olivia Wilde, who is also directing the film, dished about her on-set policy.
"Someone, who’s a very established actor and director in this industry, gave me really terrible advice that was helpful, because I just knew I had to do the opposite. They said, ‘Listen, the way to get respect on a set, you have to have three arguments a day. Three big arguments that reinstate your power, remind everyone who’s in charge, be the predator.’ That is the opposite of my process. And I want none of that. … The no a–holes policy, it puts everybody on the same level," Wilde said.
Naturally, a movie with this much hype and this talented of a cast has a lot of buzz, and since the first preview dropped, people have been discussing every second of it.
What Fans Are Saying About Its First Look
One Reddit user stated that their excitement grew after seeing the trailer.
"Was moderately excited for this simply based on those involved, but that has risen exponentially. Damn this is an effective trailer," they wrote.
Another user pointed out that this movie has a lot of positive things working for it on the surface, especially its cinematography.
"It looks very pretty. Excited to see Florence Pugh deliver another powerhouse performance, excited to see Chris Pine as a nefarious do-badder, excited to see Kiki Layne and Gemma Chan in interesting roles and excited to look at Harry Styles' face. All that plus the cinematography sounds like a good time at the movies to me," they wrote.
All was not positive, however, as someone pointed out that the preview for this film felt very familiar.
"I think Florence Pugh is fantastic, she's quickly rising up the list of actors I seek out. This looks like a great role for Chris Pine too. This looks like a pretty film though, from this trailer alone, it doesn't feel all that new/fresh. I'm not sure if it's just the resemblance to Stepford Wives, or something else (feels like 'danger hidden under a perfect town' has been done a lot, even in Desperate Housewives), but I feel a bit like I've seen very similar stuff before," they stated.
Don't Worry Darling will see its official release in September, and hopefully, it will be able to live up to the expectations that have been placed on it after its initial trailer.
