The recent reunion of Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston at an awards ceremony included some PDA and it stirred up speculation about the two trying to make it work again. The former couple had been married for seven years, and they had a rather sad divorce in 2005. Brad fell in love with Angelina Jolie and called it quits with Aniston. The divorce took a toll on Jennifer, and she had to undergo therapy to overcome the trauma.
Years went by, and there was a new turn of events that changed their lives yet again. Their respective second marriages fell apart, and both learned to love being single once more.
They call themselves good friends now. They do catch up and seem to be happy about it. What they do with their life now is their choice. While we wait and watch, let's spend a little time looking back at times when Jen revealed things about Brad to the media:
14 Aniston Found Brad Pitt A Normal, Sweet Guy
Aniston revealed to Rolling Stone that she and Brad Pitt met in 1994. Their managers were friends and they were instrumental in getting the two celebrities together. When asked what she thought of him when they first saw each other, Aniston said, "[Pitt] was just this sweet guy from Missouri, you know? A normal guy."
13 She Called Him The ‘Right’ One
Aniston once said that her friends were initially skeptical about Brad Pitt. However, they eventually realized he was the right one for Aniston. She pointed out, "You know if there's ever an argument, it's not like you can go, 'Screw you, I'm outta here!' You're there for the long haul. It's a beautiful thing to actually realize that for the first time, to have that knowing."
12 Aniston Called Him An Anchor In The Chaos
In 2003, a W magazine reporter called Brad Pitt a 'love of' Aniston's life. In response, Aniston revealed, though, that he was not the love of her life, "He's certainly a big love in my life...And I know that we have something special, especially in all this chaos." In the big, bad world, it was nice to have someone who would, what she called, "knows you, really knows all of you."
11 The ‘Love Of Her Life’
Aniston’s statement that Brad was an anchor, rather than a love of her life, was misread and misinterpreted by the fans. She sat down with Diane Sawyer to clarify what she meant to say. During an interview, she told Sawyer that she could not imagine marrying anyone else but Brad and that she married him because he was the love of her life. She claimed her earlier statement was taken out of context.
10 She Said They Clicked From The First Moment
In the same conversation with Diane Sawyer in 2004, Aniston fondly remembered her first date with Brad Pitt. She said she knew on the first date that things would work out. It clicked from the very first moment. She described it as: "It was weird...That was a really easy evening. It was really fun."
9 Jen Wished To Carry Their Child
The love birds had made up their mind to begin a family by February 2004. Aniston announced that she was prepared to take the plunge and thought, "It's time. It's time. You know, I think you can work with a baby, I think you can work pregnant, I think you can do all of it. So I'm just truly looking forward to slowing down."
8 She Saw Her Man Crying At Their Wedding
Recalling the day of their wedding, Aniston stated in an interview in 2001, "There is nothing more moving than seeing a man cry at his own wedding." If that was what happened at her wedding, this was a rather sweet memory to cherish. Aniston added, "The nice thing about weddings now is it's not just a chick thing. It's a team effort."
7 They Had Arguments Like Normal Couples
In 2003, Aniston admitted that she and Brad would have arguments like any other normal couple. However, there would be no screaming. There would be discussions to solve or to accomplish something. She said she would not trust a couple who claimed they never fought.
6 Both Pledged To Remain Friends When They Parted
Life is unpredictable. A few months after Aniston claimed they were planning a baby, Pitt fell for Angelina Jolie. In 2005, Pitt and Aniston decided to part ways. They broke the news to the world together, stating, “We have decided to formally separate” and “We happily remain committed and caring friends with great love and admiration for one another.”
5 She Said He Is Missing A Sensitivity Chip
Addressing the separation, Aniston told the media that Brad was not a mean man. In revealing his closeness with Angelina to the world through the press, she remarked that he was 'missing a sensitivity chip.' As she put it, "he would never intentionally try to rub something in my face," and added, "In hindsight, I can see him going, 'Oh—I can see that that was inconsiderate.'
