Jennifer Garner is easily one of the biggest names in the biz, so you know that her love life has always been a hot topic. The actress notoriously married Ben Affleck back in 2005 following their time working together on Daredevil, Pearl Harbor, and Elektra, to name a few.

While their whirlwind of a romance definitely took precedence in Hollywood, many fans don't know that her marriage to Ben Affleck was actually her second! In 2000, Jennifer Garner tied the knot to her first husband and fellow actor, Scott Foley. Although Garner is happily in a relationship with John Miller today, fans still have questions about her first marriage.

The duo appeared to be head over heels in love, however, it seems as if Garner's growing success may have been too much for Scott Foley to handle. When it came to their relationship, things unraveled in 2004, and the two split for good. So, where do Jennifer and Scott stand today? Let's find out!

The Couple Got Married In 2000

Jennifer Garner and Scott Foley both found themselves gaining worldwide recognition for their on-screen roles in the late 90s. Well, in 1998 the two crossed paths for the very first time after signing onto the hit television series, Felicity.

Rumors began swirling regarding Jennifer and Scott dating during their time working together, and it turns out the rumors were spot on considering the duo officially tied the knot only two years later. From attending red carpets together, interviews, to loads of questions regarding possibly expanding their family, it seems as if the two were on the top of the world until they weren't, that is.

Jennifer Garner Became Too Famous

Although Garner and Foley were at the height of their television careers, playing fan-favorite characters Noel Crane, and Hannah Bibb, it seemed as if their fairy tale life didn't last for too long. In 2003, the couple officially called it quits and finalized their divorce a year later. While the news shocked fans across the nation, it seems as if the reason behind their breakup was even more shocking.

Turns out, their divorce was sparked after Garner gained too much fame, considering she went on to land her most prolific TV role in Alias. During this time, Jennifer also became quite the film star, landing roles in 13 Going On 30, Daredevil, and Catch Me If You Can.

This didn't sit well with Scott, who found the schedule of being an A-list actress too much for him to handle. “Jennifer became a huge celebrity. She became a huge star, and she deserved everything she got. There was no other relationship, there was no infidelity, nothing. People get divorced, you know? Through no one’s fault and everyone’s fault," Foley said.

Scott Doesn't Keep In Contact With Jennifer

While Jennifer Garner's fame may have played a major role in their split, Scott also managed to secure many stand-out roles after his split, including in Whiskey Cavalier and Scandal. Despite their marriage not working out, the two had quite an amicable split, however, they are not in contact today.

During Scott's visit to Andy Cohen's SiriusXM radio show, the actor revealed that while he and Jennifer are on good terms, the duo does not keep in touch. This makes sense considering Garner moved on, as did Scott. In 2007, Scott married Marika Domińczyk, and the two share three beautiful kids together.
