The Latest Scandal Regarding Mama June’s Drug Addiction
Honey Boo Boo’s mother Mama June Shannon has been at the center of a lot of scandals in the past few years and this has had a significant effect on Honey Boo Boo’s life as well as that of her siblings as it has meant constantly swapping living arrangements.
However, Mama June’s latest drug scandal looks set to make things worse than ever for Honey Boo Boo’s family life as she has admitted that she has had an addiction to methamphetamine that has spiraled out of control.
It turns out that Mama June and her boyfriend were both doing copious amounts of meth and it became a habit that got really expensive for them.
Mama June admitted to her problem during a reunion with her daughter Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon during a recent episode of the WE TV series Mama June: Family Crisis. According to Mama June: “I mean, it was a couple ounces a day. Our habit was $2,500 a day, if not more.”
This has lead to catastrophic events to occur such as the selling of the family home and Honey Boo Boo having to live with her sister Lauryn. Lauryn has taken on the responsibility of looking after Alana as well as her 2-year-old daughter Ella.
Lauryn stated: “You have to understand too, like, I can’t have Ella and Alana around that” in the reunion episode, with her mother also assuring her that she was doing better and getting clean. However, what this will mean for Alana’s future in the long term looks uncertain.
Honey Boo Boo’s Net Worth in 2020
Since Here Comes Honey Boo Boo was dropped from TLC in 2014, Alana has been in and out of the spotlight making the odd appearances on other reality TV shows such as Dancing with The Stars: Juniors and Mama June: From Hot To Not.
This has allowed Alana to build up some decent income for herself and carve the way for a new career away from her controversial family and background.
It turns out that Alana has racked up some considerable wealth for a teenager from all her appearances on reality shows and is estimated to be worth $800,000 and the money is all hers, in an effort to distance herself from Mama June and her ongoing problems, she is keeping it safe from Mama June.
Despite Alana’s fame and the drama surrounding her family, she still manages to live a normal teenage life, enjoying life as a freshman in a public school in Georgia. However, due to the ongoing problems with Mama June’s drug addiction, she has had to move schools due to moving in with her older sister Lauryn.
Even though Alana hasn’t had the best start in life and has been unfairly surrounded by a sea of unwarranted attacks from the media, she has managed to maintain a good head on her shoulders and looks to have a bright future ahead of her.

It still remains unclear what Alana intends to do in the future, she is only fourteen after all. Whatever Alana intends to pursue in the future, she will have a lot of options to pick from. She currently has many money-making avenues on the go including TV appearances to her own fashion line.
Alana is currently running her own website AlanaThompson.com selling various pieces of merchandise with some proceeds going to charity to help the ongoing global health crisis. Not bad for a fourteen-year-old and a clear sign she is making good money from the entrepreneurial venture.
Alongside her fashion line, Alana has also tried her hand at modelling and walked at a fashion show for Model Mafia LA Fashion Fest, an LA-based modelling agency trying to change people’s perspectives on body image.
Whatever Alana chooses to do in the future it seems like she will have a lot of options out there to choose from.
