Juan Pablo Galavis was certainly the Juan that fans of the franchise disliked most! Enthusiasts of the show were first introduced to Juan Pablo in the 2013 season of The Bachelorette, and on Season 18 of The Bachelor, he was named the first Latino lead of the franchise's history.
However, the former soccer player's time on the show wasn't easy. It came with a whole lot of drama, weirdness, crankiness, and puns. We're also certain that the wishy-washy Galavis is the one who started the "I changed my mind after the season's end" trend on the Bachelor Nation. And we all recall how he completely blindsided Nikki Ferrell and Clare Crawley, so is he now a changed man? Is he any different than the Juan Pablo we once knew?
Read on to see if "it's okay" on his end.
10 Still Not Funny
In 2014, Clare Crawley, who was in the finale of Galavis' season, was completely taken aback when he broke up with her on live television.
Fast forward over five years later, and the uncharming former Bachelor lead decided he'd have some fun recreating the moment he broke Crawley's heart with his daughter Camila.
Both he and his only daughter, Camila, aged 12, thought it was okay to make a mockery of the moment Galavis embarrassed Crawley with an unexpected twist. And they went on to share it with the world on TikTok.
9 Not A Fan
Although the former Venezuelan soccer player has to thank the Bachelor Nation franchise for most of his fame, he's not about to sit down and put on the reality television show.
When it was announced that his ex-flame, Clare Crawley, was going to be The Bachelorette, the man with the "it's okay" trademark thought he'd voice his opinion. He criticized the men contestants that were selected for her on his Twitter saying, "I just SAW the GUYS for @Clare_Crawley Bachelorette season and its gonna be INTERESTING seeing HER get hit on by KIDS [in] their 20s... I think this MIGHT be the 3rd SEASON Im gonna watch." He clearly doesn't think "it's okay" to keep up with the franchise!
8 A Call To Galavis
When it was announced that Crawley was going to be the leading lady giving out the roses on Season 16 of The Bachelorette, it certainly spiked the curiosity of both Galavis and the producers.
According to Us Weekly, Galavis, who not even Chris Harrison was a fan of, claims that he got a call to be a contestant on Crawley's season.
"I was going to go on Clare’s season because I got a call from the producers that said, 'You know, Juan, Clare wants to make peace with you,'" he claimed on an episode of the Almost Famous podcast.
7 He May Have Made A Comeback
Although he claimed the show is definitely not one of his guilty pleasures, when he got a call from the producers, his opinion differed.
The former soccer star addressed the fact that he was called on the Almost Famous podcast saying, "I’m fine with it, I have nothing against anybody. … I said, 'Well, let me think about it.' But then everything changed." So, he was about to appear on all of our television screens again! We wonder how that would've panned out.
6 The Married Life
Turns out, someone fell head over heels in love with the former The Bachelor contestant and his nonchalant catchphrase.
In 2017, Galavis exchanged vows with Osmariel Villalobos, a Venezuelan TV show host who stole his heart. At that point in time, there had been statements from Galavis that he wanted to have more children with Villalobos. According to People, Galavis settled down after a year of dating and tied the knot with Villalobos in an intimate ceremony that took place in Miami.
5 No Prince Charming
And alas, Galavis couldn't even keep his commitment to the brunette beauty. Yes, Juan Pablo is a bachelor again.
Just when we thought he got his happily ever after, the former leading man messed up again. Following a low-key wedding, after two years, the pair decided to split. And in March 2020, at the start of the pandemic, Villalobos shared a post in which she clarified their divorce in a caption. The post was nothing short of emotional, but it was clear that the divorce was finalized.
4 What Does He Do For A Living?
He's no longer married, neither is he running around on the soccer field, so what is the bachelor up to?
Galavis didn't stray off the "sports world" path and works in the industry. According to his LinkedIn, Galavis has served as a sports and entertainment consultant for RedWine Management. And it appears that RedWine Management is the talent agency of he and two of his buddies.
3 Busting Moves
With the pandemic that's been lingering for over a year now, we're wondering what the single man has been doing to keep busy.
Turns out that the former professional athlete is a fan of the TikTok application. Yes, you can find Galavis and his 12-year-old daughter showing off their mutual love for dance on the app. He may not still be boyfriend material, but this father is definitely rad as he busts moves with his daughter in matching sweatsuits.
2 A Twitter Habit
Besides famously being unable to say "I love you" to Nikki Ferrell and always saying "it's okay" when confronted, Galavis was also known for his odd writing skills.
Every single time Galavis felt he needed to voice his thoughts on Twitter, he would awkwardly capitalize random words. Well, old habits die hard. It appears that Galavis still thinks it's cool to tweet like that all these years later. In a recent example, he tweeted, "For THOSE asking me about @Clare_Crawley as the NEW Bachelorette, I believe she is PERFECT for it. She DESERVES unconditional LOVE and a family."
1 The Ego Is Still Very Much Alive
Speaking of voicing his opinions, Galavis certainly still doesn't have a filter.
When it was announced that Clare Crawley would take the lead in her very own season of The Bachelorette, Galavis decided to take advantage of the situation and put himself out there. When the hit reality television show initially released the promo to Crawley's season, Galavis quickly reacted and tweeted, "Interesting PROMO of @Clare_Crawley and the season of @BacheloretteABC, 6 years LATER and I know WHO is the Juan that can’t get OVER Juan … Would LOVE if you take a GUESS? PS: Clare got over LONG time ago, just in CASE …"
Clearly, Juan is not the juan for Crawley!
