Katie Holmes and her new boyfriend were set up by a friend in early May. Their mutual friend’s matchmaker skills are definitely remarkable, as the Holmes and Bobby seem to be getting along splendidly.

A source close to Holmes confirmed to E! News that their relationship was going well adding, “Katie is excited about seeing someone and is very happy. She enjoys having someone in her life, and he is very kind and good to her.”

Like Katie Holmes, who is a Toledo native, Bobby Wooten III is a Midwesterner. The 33-year-old was born in New Jersey to Bobby Wooten Jr and Ismadi Wooten. The family moved to Chicago when Bobby's dad decided to take over the Wooten Choral Ensemble, established by Bobby’s grandfather in 1949.

In 2019, Bobby was cast in David Byrne’s American Utopia, which opened on Broadway in 2019 and closed May 2022. After curtains closed on the critically acclaimed musical, Bobby shared behind-the-scenes snapshots of his time on stage, commenting on the experience in an Instagram caption that read, “It will always feel special to me that I performed in a Broadway show not as a character but as myself.”
