Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee's relationship was one that was a dream made in paparazzi heaven. Everywhere the couple went during the early days of their relationship, cameras followed. When the sex tape was leaked, a tape that would even affect Anderson and Lee's sons, media outlets were relentless with them. And when details of alleged domestic abuse surfaced as the reason why Lee and the Baywatch alum divorced, neither could leave their home without being badgered by the press. Because of this, everyone associates Anderson with being the blonde bombshell that was formerly Mrs. Lee.
Many seem to forget that Lee has been married four times. His marriage to Anderson was actually one of the shorter relationships that the Motley Crüe drummer has had. While the courtship and marriage to the Barb Wire star were as exciting as they were explosive, there was actually another blonde that had Lee's heart years before he pursued Anderson. And if Lee had a chance to do it all over again, he would do things differently to have made that relationship last. Tommy Lee loved Pamela Anderson, but it was another woman who "got away."
Fans Want To See Tommy Lee And Pam Anderson Reunite
Despite the fact that Lee and Anderson have been over for decades, Anderson has married and divorced several more times, and Lee is happily married to Brittany Furlan, fans have the desire to see the former couple reunite.
While Anderson has allegedly made attempts to make this happen, Lee has made it clear that his marriage to Furlan is solid and nothing will change that.
The renewed interest in Lee and Anderson's relationship came after Anderson's book, Love, Pamela, and her documentary, Pamela, A Love Story were released in January 2023. One of the biggest revelations that came from both was that Anderson was still very much in love with Lee; she allegedly sent him texts to express as much.
"I can't believe we filmed so much. It's heartbreaking (in a good way) – So much love," Anderson texted.
"We were so happy. So cute you with the boys as babies and it's really how paparazzi world tore us apart. It's very emotional and sweet. I only have good things to say about you – Esp in hindsight I realize I only had one true love – I never recovered."
With the public seeing things like this, they wonder why the two do not get back together, though, of course, Furlan has the perfect answer for them.
"All the people being like, 'Oh, they need to be back together. They are each other's soulmates...' "I'm like, ‘You guys, my husband, if he wanted to be back with her, would be back with her in two seconds,'" Furlan explained.
"They act like this is all new. They've been separated for a long time, even before I came along... I get that people try to romanticize things that they make up in their head or whatever, but it is really strange."
In fact, Furlan stated that while Anderson claimed that Lee was her "one true love," according to StyleCaster, there was someone else who is Lee's true love. And that person is his second wife, Heather Locklear.
Brittany Furlan Says Heather Locklear Was Tommy's True Love
Furlan recognizes that most people associate Lee with Anderson and likely always will. But, the stand-up comedian also wants to acknowledge that Locklear is the woman that Lee is talking about in the Motley Crüe autobiography, The Dirt, calling her "the one who got away."
"She was the love of his life," Furlan explained. "I see it, because she's just a fun, sweet, caring, awesome person. Tommy even says he messed up in that relationship. He cheated on her. To this day, that's why they're still really good friends."
Furlan even claimed that she gets on Lee's case occasionally for cheating on the Melrose Place alum, given the rapport the two still share.
"I yell at my husband, I'm like, 'I can't believe you cheated on her. She’s so cool,'" Furlan explained. "That was a different time. He was 25 years old, 26 years old. Not to make excuses, but he's a very different man now from all those years ago. You live and you learn."
The rapport between Lee and Locklear also extends to Furlan. And that is why the former and current Lee wives are able to not only get along but have become friends as well.
Brittany Furlan's Relationship With Heather Locklear Today
As a result of allegations Anderson made in a letter she penned after Lee and their son, Brandon got into a physical altercation that strained their relationship, stating Furlan "keeps [Lee] drunk - this is what he wants - someone to behave badly with," there is no love lost between the women, though publicly Anderson has claimed otherwise.
However, the relationship between Furlan and Locklear could not be any different. And Furlan is grateful to have the Spin City alum in her life.
"Heather and I are very close. She's awesome, I love her," Furlan explained to People. "I think she's the most kind, down-to-earth person. We met through Tommy, obviously, and became close. She's just very cool, very nice, just supportive and just a cool chick all around."
The difference in the relationship between Furlan and Anderson and Furlan and Locklear could not be any different. And while Furlan would like to have things be copacetic between herself and all of Lee's exes, that is just not something that appears to be in the cards. As such, she is appreciative of the friendship she and Locklear share.
"There's a lot that goes on that I don’t share publicly that kept that from happening, [but] she's very, very nice, so I've managed to have a relationship with her and I am so grateful for that," Furlan stated.
"She tells me funny stories. Everyone glorifies his relationship with Pam, but he was married to Heather for [nearly] eight years!"
Given that Lee has admitted that Locklear is the one who got away, Furlan could have easily cut the Dynasty alum out of her life out of insecurity. But instead, Furlan has embraced Locklear and could not be happier to have done so, ex of Lee's or not.
