Nicole Kidman is known worldwide as an actress and producer. The Australian film and television star is the recipient of numerous accolades, including an Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award, two Primetime Emmy Awards and six Golden Globe Awards.
Kidman has been married twice: first to actor Tom Cruise, and later to country singer Keith Urban. Kidman met Cruise in 1989 while working on the set of Days of Thunder, a film in which they both starred. They married on Christmas Eve of 1990 in Colorado. While married, the couple adopted a daughter, Isabella “Bella” Cruise, and a son Connor Cruise. On 5 February 2001, the couple's spokesperson announced their separation.
Kidman is now married to New Zealand-Australian country singer Keith Urban. They met in 2005 at G'Day LA, an event honoring Australians. Kidman married Urban on 25 June 2006 at Cardinal Cerretti Memorial Chapel in Sydney, Australia.
The couple's first daughter, Sunday Rose Kidman Urban, was born in 2008, in Nashville, Tennessee. In 2010, Kidman and Urban welcomed their second daughter, Faith Margaret Kidman Urban, via gestational surrogacy at Nashville's Centennial Women's Hospital. Both Sunday and Faith have expressed interest in the entertainment world. But what happened when Nicole Kidman tried to act as Sunday and Faith's momager?
What Is Nicole Kidman's Relationship Like With Her Adopted Children?
Isabella “Bella” Cruise was born in 1992 and was adopted by Hollywood stars Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise shortly afterwards.
After her parents split, Bella grew up within the Church of Scientology alongside her father. Today, Bella is based in London, where she works as an artist and owns her own company. Isabella got married to IT consultant Max Parker in 2015—though neither her father nor mother attended her wedding.
After news broke of their absence, many began to speculate that Bella was estranged from both of her parents.
She has since shut down those claims, telling the Daily Mail in 2016, “Of course [we talk], they’re my parents. Anyone who says otherwise is full of sh**,” Kidman’s only son, Connor Cruise, was born in January 1995.
While Connor hasn’t been spotted out with Kidman in years, the actor and musician has denied that they have an estranged relationship. “I love my mom. I don’t care what people say, I know that me and mom are solid. I love her a lot,” he told Woman’s Day in 2016.
Nicole Kidman Was 'Fired' From Being Her Youngest Daughter's 'Momager'
Nicole Kidman has revealed her two youngest daughters, Sunday, 14 and 11-year-old Faith, have expressed a desire to enter the film industry. The 55-year-old hilariously explained that she has already failed her duties as a "momager" and was "fired" by her offspring.
"My oldest [Sunday] wants to be a filmmaker, and she makes films every weekend. The little one is battling to get in them, but she had a tantrum and wouldn't say the lines. And actually, I got fired last weekend," Kidman explained to News.com.au. The Big Little Lies star children earned an extra role on the first episode of her new drama, The Undoing.
"They're used to being extras, but they did five days in the freezing [New York] cold, never complained, and didn't get any special treatment. 'And then one day they came home and said, "We got a line!"'
Nicole Kidman's Daughter Refused To Take Her Emmy
Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are proud parents to 14-year-old Sunday Rose. The Hollywood power couple rarely share photos of their children, but both have joined Nicole on set before. They both have had small roles in both Big Little Lies and The Undoing.
But Sunday is so determined to make her name in her own right she refused her mom's Emmy. Kidman was awarded two Emmys for her performance in Big Little Lies in 2018. She offered one each to her daughters, but Sunday flat out declined. Kidman revealed the hilarious story during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, telling the host: "Sunday didn't want it. She said 'Oh, I want to earn my own.' I'm like, 'You go, girl!'"
